Best eggs Benedict I’ve had in a while!! Place is unassuming but full of super nice wait staff and delicious food. Dog friendly too. Giving 4 stars because the prices are a bit high, but that’s the Bay Area for you!

Never went to this spot because of its unassuming exterior. Came in expecting some middle of the road breakfast. First off the staff is incredibly warm and attentive. Second, the food exceeded my expectations and then some. All the food looked good and tasty and like it was plated with love…and the food was as good as it looked! New favorite breakfast spot in Oakland!

This morning, a friend and I went to have coffee here. Neither one of us had been here in many years. It was 10 AM and there was no one there. We didn’t know what to do so we walked to the back of the restaurant and there were two tables filled; that was it. We sat down. The server, Suzanne, drops two menus off at our table and when she comes back she says “ What can I get you”? We informed her we were only having coffee. She says loudly, “You can’t just have coffee here. You need to order food”. We said we didn’t want to eat, and this woman lost it! She blew a gasket. She told us we could go outside and we said it was too cool. Mind you, my friend is elderly, 80 years old, and it was a cool morning. She then said as loudly as she could that we should walk over to Lakeshore if we only wanted coffee. We left. We ended up going elsewhere and we spent $30 on coffee and a pastry, leaving a 25% tip. I would think that some business is better than no business, Suzanne. It was not as though it was a Saturday or Sunday morning, and people were waiting to be seated. There was no reason for you to become so irate.

7.4 💥. I stopped by for breakfast on a Saturday afternoon and was seated fast. The services was quick and friendly. The food here was amazing and cooked perfectly. The jam made in house was next level, I put it on everything. When in town check this place out for good eats. 💥 They also have pastries too.

This is a great local cafe with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff that always make you feel welcome. The food is tasty with fresh ingredients, and there are seating options both in and outdoors that can accommodate a variety of group sizes. This has been my favourite breakfast spot for years and I feel like a member of the family when I'm here. Their coffee is wonderful as well, if you are just looking for something to go. Even if their kitchen is closed they won't turn you away hungry and will offer to make you a sandwich to go. This is the best cafe!
