Levant Mediterranean Restaurant & Cafe
1703B Portland Ave, Nashville, TN
Crema's Take
“Levant brings Mediterranean flavors and late-night availability to Nashville, making it a solid spot for casual meetups over pastries and traditional coffee drinks when you need somewhere open past typical cafe hours. While reviews are mixed on the food quality and consistency, the welcoming vibe and varied menu keep regulars coming back for quick bites and a change of pace from standard American coffee shops.”

It usually takes a lot to make me write a bad review but this is more of a warning to others. I ordered 2 meals and paid. Then they proceed to basically take old food out of the refrigerator and reheat it. Then they gave me old scraps of chicken that looked like they has been there for days. I was afraid to eat the food but I had already paid and I was starving. It was terrible and made me sick. I couldn't eat more than a few bites before having to throw it all away. Over priced bad food.
This was my second visit. They didn't fair well the first time so here we try again. The person that waited on me was polite, but the lamb gyro was bland, the fries were over-seasoned and the baklava wasn't sweet at all! How can you make a dessert made of fila dough, nuts and honey NOT sweet?!?! They did. Definitely not going back a third time.
This is a great little place for quick eats. The menu selection is varied, and all of the selections we chose were delicious. It was towards closing time, but they did not seem in a hurry to shoo us out. My wife typically does not like foreign food and was a little hesitant about the Mediterranean moniker, but she devoured the lamb gyro and admitted she would definitely have it again.
Ordered using Major Menu and the gyro meat is very bland. Rice is good. Salad good. Pita bread as just one quarter of a whole pita. You get a lot more food from other Mediterranean places around town. Not worth $10 at all.
I ordered a salad from Levant through Postmates, and it was the most disgusting thing I have ever had delivered to me. Every single piece of chicken was under cooked and pink, and the 'salad dressing' was a glob of white curdled mess that didn't move when you turned it upside down. I was so afraid to eat any of it for fear of getting sick. I would NEVER order from this place again, and warn everyone I know to not eat here. So beyond disappointed.
