Pao's Donut & Coffee Shop

I've heard of Pao's Donuts even before I lived close by. I knew I would be in for a treat when I see a steady line, people carrying out that familiar pink boxes and a 'cash only' sign. The people are the best part. Very neighborhood feel and very kind! The display of fresh donuts is a visual dream and on busy mornings and weekends, you will see trays getting refilled often. They also offer a drive thru! I see regulars coming in to get their one or two donuts plus coffee and I see the office heroes and community leaders walk out with boxes! The donuts are priced $2-4 spending on how fancy you wanna get. Pao's Donuts is a no-frills neighborhood joint so come be a part of history.

I can’t remember the last time I went to a donut shop, but a friend brought me here and I’m so glad she did. I love this local spot — it has such a true Washington feel, and you don’t see many places like this anymore. The donuts are excellent — not greasy and not overly sweet, perfect for my taste. We don’t need more fancy bakeries; we need more places like this, with real character and a true taste of the place.

Was in the area for the day so I stopped to grab a doughnut. 11:30 AM still tons of selection. Their donuts are amazing, especially the maple old-fashioned.(but sweet!) can’t vouch for the drinks. I took my order to go. Do you remember you need cash.

First time there and the donuts are really REALLY good !! Someone said the filled donuts were lacking filling but ours were bursting with it. Coming home to eat a still warm donut was the BEST !! But in our cashless society the cash only factor annoyed me,but worth the trip to an atm. Super nice guy at the counter who was really patient with the indecisiveness of a first time customer,lol Thank you !!

When I first walked into this donut shop, the atmosphere felt rather dull and uninviting. I hoped that trying their donuts would improve the experience, but unfortunately, the quality did not meet expectations. The icing was overly thick and heavy, with a taste that suggested the use of lower-quality ingredients.
