Mass Hole Donuts
1157 Broadway, Somerville, MA
Crema's Take
“This Somerville spot lives up to its cheeky name with a rotating roster of creative donut flavors that keeps regulars coming back weekly to discover new favorites—the cinnamon is a standout. The charming, approachable vibe and playful wall of flavor options make it a fun weekend destination, though be prepared for premium pricing on what's ultimately a quick pastry grab.”

They sell vegan donuts and say they're environmentally friendly but are against initiatives like bike lanes and community projects. Prices are also very high for what you get, especially since its at best, mid tier quality. Criticism and suggestions results in blocks on their social media. Owner is very aggressive.
Ok clearly one of the best business names ever :-) Super cute shop - read about this on the internet somewhere. Love the wall of flavors - tried 6 different ones. I think my favorite was the cinnamon. Wish they had had boston cream when I was there. Don't live in the area but would visit again if I were.
Fun donut experience with creative flavors. Recently took a visit on a Sunday morning after getting a recommendation from my friends. Since Masshole changes their flavors weekly, I unfortunately didn’t see some of the ones that my friends have been raving about. The donuts, albeit slightly pricey given their size, were essentially like sized-up Munchkins with more adventurous flavors. The standout for me was the classic cinnamon, and the chocolate and strawberry glazed were also satisfying. However, the ones with a poppy seed donut base were a bit dense and dry. Not sure if I would return, but if you’re curious about trying unconventional donut flavors, Masshole Donuts might just hit the spot.
I’m not much of a doughnut person but man these are actually pretty good. I’ve gone a couple times to try different ones each week before I could review massholes, & honestly I love that they rotate flavors each week. I love the brioche & classic doughnuts with the filling just superb. My personal favorite might have to be the Boston banana cream pie & Davolls butter pecan bliss. I also like that they have the Johnny Appleseed every week as it’s one of the best. Not fan of the poppyseed doughnuts as they were just ok , but look forward trying all the different options they have in the coming weeks. Def recommend the brioche & chocolate doughnuts.
I had the delight of sampling six different donut holes from this fine establishment about two weeks ago. I love donuts!, and these donut holes certainly didn’t disappoint! I tried all the different flavors, I believe they change flavors regularly, and I’m a huge fan of the size! Not too big = less guilt when sampling all the flavors. So yes, it’s slightly delayed review, but that just shows you how good I think these yummy little morsels are, I came back two weeks later to write a review. This donut lover is very pleased, and I’m thrilled to have another small local business in Teele Sq; plus they are dog friendly!!
