Crema's Take

Nestled inside Denver's Junction Food Hall, Sonder Coffee & Tea is where barista Sophia transforms a simple caffeine run into a moment of genuine presence—her effortless latte art and espresso-focused craft invite you to actually sit with your coffee rather than just grab it. The open patio seating and unhurried vibe create a rare pocket of calm in the city, perfect for lingering over a pour over or settling in with your laptop, and the surrounding food hall options mean you can build out a whole morning without leaving the space.

Went on a Saturday morning before much if the food hall opened. It was a nice vibe sitting on the patio and our drinks were delicious. I wish this place had a bike rack but other than that it’s set up very well even being in a food court. I’ll definitely be back.

Some people just make coffee. Sophia creates experiences. Walked into Sonder Coffee & Tea needing caffeine. Walked out reminded that presence still exists in this world. The latte art? Effortless. Like breathing. The kind of mastery that only comes from loving what you do. But what really stood out wasn’t the foam design it was the conversation. No rush. No forced energy. No transactional vibes. Just organic, grounded, meaningful connection while she moved with precision behind the bar like it was choreography. That balance? Rare. Customer service like that isn’t trained it’s embodied. Above reproach. Authentic. Intentional. It’s wild how one genuine interaction can shift the entire trajectory of your day. Sophia, you didn’t just serve coffee. You served presence. And that matters more than people realize

The espresso was good, a little overpriced I would say, but tasty. It is next to other restaurants with lots of options to choose from (salads, burgers, Bowls, Italian…). There is plenty of space and WiFi works great.

I just moved into the neighborhood and looked up nearby spots. Lucky me, this spot is in walking distance. I loved the open space and general vibe. Everyone was friendly and the coffee was good, as were the pastries. A nice spot for work or chilling.

I had no idea Sonder opened another location and that it’s inside the Junction Food Hall! It’s a very cute little setup but they do get busy quickly. So please have some patience because trust me, it will be worth the wait! The matcha is absolutely delicious! I got it sweetened with a little bit of honey and it was perfect! You know the matcha is going to be amazing when they pull out the powder and whisk! 100/10! The raspberry danish was sadly not my favorite. With the influx of people it was briefly forgotten about and did come out very hot. And with them still being busy they accidentally packaged it to go so it was very messy to eat. The crunch and flakiness was fabulous but the raspberry to cream cheese ratio was a little off for me. And I think that’s mainly because this batch of raspberries just happened to be on the super tart side. So I’d prob give it a 7.5/10.
