Crema's Take

Nestled in Portland's West End, this beloved bakery-coffee hybrid draws regulars back for lattes worth the return trip and an impressive array of house-made pastries that span from blueberry scones to creative pies. The sunny, parking-friendly spot strikes that rare balance of being both a serious coffee destination and a genuine neighborhood gathering place, where you can linger over breakfast sandwiches or celebrate special occasions without feeling rushed.

My bf and I love this bakery and location, especially the breakfast sandwich! Unfortunately, the woman who seemed to be the manager at the time this morning around 11:30 was hostile toward myself and her fellow employee when my drink order came out wrong and I politely clarified if the drink was indeed mine. She barked at me that it must be mine because it had my name on it and then ordered her coworker rudely to remake it. The other woman was kind and apologetic! This manager or shift leader then continued to loudly order her coworker to sweep the floors because they were "gross" and belittle her in front of the whole cafe. Both my bf and I have worked in customer service and felt bad for the other employee. Kindness goes a long way and so does a hostile tone.

Really enjoyed this bakery/coffee shop! Our original plan while in Portland was to visit different coffee shops but my latte was so good I had to come back for another ( and to get another blueberry buckle 🤭) Also decided to get a blueberry pie iced tea for the road and it was amazing. Absolutely recommend this spot. The shop itself is large and clean with lots of seating. There is a free parking lot right out front which makes it easy to get to. Definitely try this place out!

Very cute little place with free parking. Got 2 pies for my Pi Day Birthday day! One was a small personal mint pie and the other was a mixed berry pie. Both are very different but very delicious independently of each other! The mint was a smooth melt in your mouth filling with a yummy chocolate crust which is the one with the candle. I forgot to ask for candles before I checked out and the person at the register decided to just give them to me because it was my birthday. The mixed berry is a sharp berry filling well blended with a topped in sugar flakey crust. The atmosphere inside is very cozy with some seating to enjoy the pie in the shop. Very cute little place, definitely going back for more pies and a birthday pie too!

Went there for breakfast while in Maine. While there is no shortage of breakfast/coffeehouse, maybe if then are closed on the weekend during the off season when we were there. I guess you can say that we were lucky in that sense because we may have not seeked out this place and I'm glad we did. While the coffee is good, it's the good that was amazing and would make me want to go again when we go back in the summer. I mean it also helps that we own 2 cats, of which one of them is fat. Parking is plentiful, but most of it is for the apartment complex so you may want to be cautious of where you park if you are staying long. Definitely one of the best coffee houses I've been too... In this country at least ;)
