Blue Bottle Coffee - Kendall Square
88 Ames St, Cambridge, MA
Crema's Take
“This Blue Bottle location in Kendall Square brings a genuinely welcoming energy where skilled baristas actually seem happy to dial in your order, whether that's a perfectly executed Australian flat white or their locally beloved Iced Nola. The bright, clean space feels like a real gathering spot for the neighborhood—less tourist trap than the chain's California locations—with thoughtful touches like gender-neutral restrooms and solid pastry options that make lingering over a cup feel natural.”

This cafe was a pleasant bright spot in the world of US coffee. The staff had real barista skills and were happy to make me an Australian style flat white. Delicious!
GREAT coffee and more importantly great service. The staff are all friendly and chatty, and more importantly make good coffee. I don't know what is up with all the negative reviews. The vibe of this place is very similar to many coffee shops in the UK and Europe, which is good. I like that the staff seem to take care when making drinks, and that they talk to customers and each other. If you want a corporate Starbucks production line then go there. *EDIT: one note to the ownership - you're in the heart of MIT so people will want to use laptops here. Unfortunately the Wi-Fi is almost unusable. Maybe this is deliberate to discourage table hogging. If I could have worked for longer I would keep buying drinks, but had to move on due to poor Wi-Fi
Is the coffee good? YES Is the location perfect? YES Service people nice? You bet they are Will I come again? YES🤓🤓
Best coffee shop in Cambridge. I would recommend the Iced Nola, it was so delicious. The cappucino was also mouthwatering. The place was so clean, there was also restrooms that were gender neutral. The baristas were so kind and friendly. Really love the service. There were plenty tables for u to hang out with friends.
I’ve never seen a blue bottle with not so much people. Sit in and have a nice NOLA which doesn’t appear at California’s blue bottle menu. Chives scone was great but should be heated. Service was a little bit… felt like the staff wasn’t really care about you and not very politely. Overall, foods were great but poor service.
