Crema's Take

Tucked into Corktown's quirky, character-filled landscape, Lucky Detroit is where serious espresso craftsmanship meets neighborhood eccentricity—a place that roasts its own beans and pairs them with thoughtfully crafted specialty drinks like their standout vanilla bean iced latte. The shop's distinctive personality shines through in both its one-of-a-kind atmosphere and genuinely reasonable prices for coffee this carefully made, making it feel less like a transaction and more like discovering a local secret. Whether you're settling in for a slow sit with a pour over or grabbing their signature cold brew, this is Detroit coffee done with real care and originality.

Lucky Detroit is a great local coffee spot that really captures the neighborhood vibe. The crafted beverages are top-notch and made with care, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. The pastries look delicious and pair perfectly with a morning latte or afternoon pick-me-up. The upstairs seating area is super cool and cozy, complete with a giant moose head that adds a fun, quirky touch. A perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or get a little work done.

Lucky Detroit: Where every cup is a winning hand Lucky Detroit isn't just another coffee shop; it's an experience, a neighborhood gem that's quickly becoming synonymous with excellent coffee and an even better vibe. From the moment you step through their doors (perhaps after navigating the quirky barbershop entrance, depending on the location), you're enveloped in a welcoming atmosphere that feels both rustic and modern, a reflection of the city it calls home. Crafted coffee perfection Let's start with the star of the show: the coffee. Lucky Detroit takes its coffee seriously, and it shows. They roast their own beans, ensuring peak freshness, according to Lucky Detroit Coffee, and it elevates every sip. Their baristas are true artists, meticulously crafting each drink, whether it's a classic cappuccino or one of their acclaimed specialty lattes. Reviewers consistently rave about the Vanilla Bourbon Latte, citing its smooth, balanced flavor that's neither too sweet nor too strong. And if you're a chai fan, you're in for a treat – the chai tea latte is praised for its rich flavor and satisfying foam. They even make their own syrups in-house, adding another layer of handcrafted goodness. Ambiance that invites and inspires Beyond the exceptional coffee, Lucky Detroit boasts a distinct atmosphere that sets it apart.

I am not from this area but came here to shop at King’s Bookstore. We found ourselves in want of coffee while shopping and googled coffee shops nearby. I liked that Lucky freshly roasts their beans. We ordered a double with pistachio milk, a chai, a mint latte and cinnamon rolls. Every drink was phenomenal and that pistachio milk blew my mind. The coffee is smooth, not bitter and has layers of flavor that delight the palette in a way I have not experienced before. We all agreed these were exceptional drinks and vowed to leave a review…which I have never done. The cinnamon rolls were light and buttery with just the right sweetness. A perfect pairing for an afternoon pick me up. I am recommending all to patronize Lucky. In fact run, do not walk, to Lucky. You will not be disappointed, you will be blessed! Thank you Lucky! I will be back.

Lucky Coffee Roastery in Corktown – a cozy spot that’s part coffee shop, part barbershop, all wrapped up in an old building with serious character. It’s like someone’s dream coffee shop come to life, with soft-spoken, reserved service that lets you enjoy your coffee without any fuss. The setup is well thought-out with different seating options, big tables, and plenty of power outlets for the laptop crowd. One small quirk – everything’s made to go, which seems like it could use a tweak, especially for a place that practically begs you to stay a while. Also, the chairs could be a bit more comfortable if you're planning on sitting long. But if you’re after a coffee spot with style and a relaxed vibe in one of Detroit’s trendiest neighborhoods, this is it. Highly recommended for a cozy break in Corktown."
