Crema's Take

Sepia is a thoughtfully curated coffee bar where serious espresso craftsmanship meets genuine community warmth, offering everything from meticulously pulled shots and pour-overs to their own house-roasted beans. The intimate space—complete with books, beautiful pastries, and a factory-adjacent roastery feel—invites you to linger with excellent coffee whether you're working on your laptop, meeting a friend, or hunting for beans to take home. Staff here treat every visitor with the kind of respect and openness that makes specialty coffee feel welcoming rather than intimidating.

Delicious hazelnut seasonal latte, banana bread muffin, and wonderful vibe. Limited seating, but great music and high-end shopping for a coffee connoisseur while still staying chill and accessible.

If you're passing by and want to grab a drink or looking to pick up beans for your home brew, Sepia delivers on both. They bring an immense value of community, warmth, and respect for history that I love about Detroit. I came in to pick up some new coffee for my home set up and was treated like luxury. I went back and forth with Martel (not sure how their name is properly spelled) talking about things I liked and was presented with great information and some drip and espresso to try. I've routinely been purchasing beans here for the past 5 months and have been impressed by their quality and diversity of choice. I've been helped by others as well and appreciate everyone's knowledge and ability to translate that into something you can take home and enjoy. Their drinks are spectacular and their specials are intriguing throughout the seasons. Oat milk is their standard which was a pleasant surprise. For those interested in Detroit community, this place is a natural hub.

What a delightful coffee bar! As a tea lover visiting, I was highly impressed. Beautiful pastries, beautiful coffee, and beautiful environment; complete with books. Top notch service is the bonus, and definitely what will bring me back.

We tried it for the first time and it was okay. The ambiance is nice. It seems like they roast their own beans in the house. We liked the london fog but the matcha was bad.

Was visiting from Dallas for work. Chose to come by because of the ethos of the shop. Then I saw the reviews, and it was done. The staff was very friendly and open. The cafe had a part factory/part coffee shop look and feel, which I loved. Industry meets The Earth, y’know? I had the Sepia roast, and it was light yet bold. Totally held its own. The taste was smooth. It was so damn good, I decided to buy a bag. I had a savory scone and chocolate chip cookie too, and yeah- everything was delicious. Coming here was a total jackpot. I’ve been home for over two weeks now, and I have to get another bag (ordering online).
