Lyons Corner

537 Gravier St, New Orleans, LA

Crema's Take

Tucked into Hotel Theo, this New Orleans spot channels old-world charm with intentional decor that matches its name, offering a relaxed breakfast and pastry experience where attentive service shines on good days. The menu spans comforting classics like fluffy pancakes and egg bites alongside avocado toast and yogurt parfaits, making it a genuine local alternative to chain coffee shops—though consistency seems to depend on whether the kitchen and staff are in sync that day. It's the kind of place where families linger over coffee and conversation, especially if you catch them when they're not battling a parade-day rush.

The prawn 🦐 harder than a piece of foam, the service despite having reservations was nearly invisible. While I understand there was a parade the staff was short handed which resulted in poor service. The only thing I recommend is the chicken. Oh and the menu…. Well loved would be putting it kindly.

Great spot for a light casual breakfast or snack when a pastry is not enough. I got the egg bites which were good but now wish I had the avocado toast instead. Everything on the menu looks good. I ordered at the counter but the food was then served hot at my table. Loved all the velvet booths and chairs. Nice cozy and charming place to chill.

We came here on Christmas Day after worrying we wouldn’t find somewhere to eat. The service and especially our server were both incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive. The pancakes were the best I’ve ever had. Thanks to our server and cook!

I was tired of eating in the hotel and tired of Starbucks so did some walking to find a local time. I haven’t upon this place. It’s a little difficult to see since it’s covered by construction material. I walked in and was a great saw to sit down at the counter. Does that mean you already so I certainly left it. A server came up to me and asked if I wanted coffee and I said yes, she mumbled something. Couldn’t even understand what you’re saying. She Mac and I ordered omelette breakfast. Still not coffee so I asked to sugar walking by if I could get coffee and she said sure I can get it for you. she brought it right over for 1000 cream of sugar. I finally looked up and figured out that there was an area where you could cream sugar so I walked over grab my supplies and sat down. I guess that’s what the first server was trying to tell me, but she mumbled it and talk face and the other way so I couldn’t hear it. Anyway, the coffee was OK breakfast and have a wonderful it was substantial with a big western lots of potatoes and two slices of fruit toast that was delicious, but I want to catch up on at least some hot sauce and had to ask another soon for it. I’m having salt and pepper table, but not at the counter. While in there if someone walking in the door and immediately waited by a server and told that they could sit wherever you want. So all the food was good service to your little tiny bit better. The price was good and much better than the hotel.

The Lyon’s Corner was attached to Hotel Theo and it is an attractive restaurant. The decor is intentional and appropriate for the name. My yogurt parfait was good but my egg bites pimento was very bland. The service was excellent and everything else was great!
