Crema's Take

Tucked inside the historic Paulsen building, Alpine Grind is a beloved neighborhood spot where the staff's genuine warmth matches the quality of their coffee and handcrafted sandwiches. The team here—especially regulars like Danielle—treats every customer like a friend, making it the kind of place where downtown Spokane locals keep coming back, whether they're grabbing a quick coffee or settling in for lunch with a friend. Skip the breakfast if you're hungry for a full meal, but come for the specialty drinks, Hawaiian sandwich, and the kind of service that makes you feel genuinely cared for, even during the rush.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely incredible service! This was our first visit, and despite a huge rush right before us, Danielle went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of. She was so sweet and apologetic that our sandwiches took a tiny bit longer—honestly, it wasn’t long at all, but her attention and care really showed how impeccable their service is. After we finished our meal, Danielle even came to our table and surprised us with house-made cookies. That kind of thoughtfulness is what turns first-time customers into lifelong ones. We truly felt like friends and family, not just customers. Huge thanks to Danielle and also to Cody for being part of such a great team. The sandwiches, salad, and cookies were fantastic, and the service was even better. We’ll definitely be continuous customers from here on out!

Great place for coffee and something sweet but skip breakfast. Great people and coffee but the breakfast scramble was just fair. If you are looking for a good breakfast keep looking.

This is a quaint little sandwich and drink stand in the Paulsen building. I've been there a few times just to grab a snack and drink and it's always been fine. But earlier today I decided to get a sandwich. I normally wouldn't spend much money at all on a grilled cheese, but I decided to give it a try. By far the best grilled cheese sandwich ever! I watched the guy grill it. Super tasty. And my colleague got another sandwich and couldn't stop raving about it. Definitely the best sandwich shop in downtown!!

I manage the Carhartt store downtown. A customer and I were talking about how we love to support local and love mom and pop type places. She recommended this place to me so I went and got lunch there today! Turkey Pesto special WOW! In addition their shop has a wide selection of grab and go as well. I got to meet Cody and Danielle! They were awesome and super friendly. I’m glad I discovered the place

Food quality is above and beyond! The owners never fail to deliver the best experience and best food with the friendliest smiles. Great for grab & go and specialty made food. The Hawaiian sandwich is my all time favorite. Best spot in town.
