The Soft Spot
5407 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA
Crema's Take
“This vibrant Pittsburgh cafe is far more than a coffee shop—it's a intentionally designed community hub that celebrates connection, creativity, and inclusivity with equal parts warmth and purpose. Beyond expertly crafted drinks like their beloved lavender vanilla latte, The Soft Spot functions as a cultural gathering space featuring local performances, a bookstore, and plenty of room to linger whether you're seeking conversation or quiet reflection. It's the kind of welcoming, sober-friendly spot that feels like it was created specifically for people looking for genuine community and "immaculate vibes."”

Vibrant and friendly cafe and community space where coffee and conversation are the most important items on the menu!
Great new sapphic cafe with unique, inclusive events and tasty coffee and N/A beverages. Pittsburgh has been needing a non-bar space and the Soft Spot answered. Try their lavender vanilla latte... You won't be disappointed!
Talk about "the vibes are immaculate"! What is the Soft Spot? Everything?? It's a coffee shop, it's a community space, it's an event spot, it's a bookstore, it's a cozy place to be quiet and read or be chatty and make new friends. If the book "Legends and Lattes" were a real place, this would be it--the epitome of cozy, loving vibes. The space is beautiful with rainbows, disco balls, and expressions of happiness everywhere. The owners are so welcoming and inviting to everyone who comes in. The intentionally curated art and books truly enhance the space. Also--the coffee!!! The "lavender panic" iced latte was divine. I can't wait to spend most of my time (and oops, my wallet) here.
This business is so welcoming, friendly, and a true community space. The cafe is open concept and not only encourages conversation, but welcomes folks to join conversation! Come by, bring a friend (or make a new friend), and grab a coffee!
A safe, sober cafe designed with inclusivity in mind! Plenty of space for activities, a stage for local performances, educational queer resources for all ages, and incredibly friendly owners. Don't be afraid to ask for accommodations! I really love all the local artwork. It's like an iSpy game of Pittsburgh queer lore.
