Balkan House Ferndale

Crema's Take
“Balkan House Ferndale is a warm, family-friendly spot where Balkan traditions meet genuine hospitality—their staff goes the extra mile, from celebratory desserts for local champions to creating a welcoming atmosphere perfect for lingering conversations with loved ones. While their traditional fare like döner and gyros occasionally divides purists on authenticity, the kitchen shines brightest when you come for their full breakfast menu and pastries, best enjoyed on a slower morning when you can settle in and savor both the food and the genuine kindness of the team.”

My sisters and I came here last night. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent!! The staff were super friendly and kind. Would highly recommend!!
Food was exquisite and the staff was absolutely delightful. We were in the area for a wrestling tournament and our oldest wore his first place medal. He got a dessert on the house for being a champion. Coming from Germany and craving a good Döner Kebab, we could not have been more pleased. 10/10 we will be back.
Very disappointing. First of all if you've ever eaten a "Döner" in Germany you won't call this a Döner here. The meat was inedible. It was burned, black and hard. There was just a half slice of cucumber and tomato in there, so the Doner was flat and that for a price of 15 $ !! Currywurst was okay but definitely not enough Curryketchup sauce. Nice people but the food is not recommended.
It is one of my favorite place I love it but my 2 gyros were almost half empty and no sauce I am glad I took extra sauce for $17 should be a little more of meat and veggies
My husband and I visited Balkan House this past weekend and would rate it a solid 4/5. While the food was fantastic and my husband loved it, I felt it could have been a bit more authentic. Listening to Katy Perry didn’t quite match the vibe of enjoying Bosnian hits! As someone who grew up with ćevape, I found them a bit lacking, but overall, it was a great experience. Since we don’t have comparable restaurants in Indiana, I wouldn’t hesitate to drive another three hours just to satisfy my cravings!
