Toasted Crust

Crema's Take
“Toasted Crust is a charming Italian spot in Charleston where wood-fired pizza and focaccia steal the show, with a genuinely warm staff (especially Andrea, the passionate Italian chef) who make families and groups feel celebrated. The late-opening hours and relaxed vibe make it perfect for lingering over coffee and pastries, whether you're catching up with friends or marking a special occasion with thoughtful touches like birthday balloons. It's the kind of neighborhood place where the quality of the food matches the quality of the hospitality.”

We love the pizza here—it’s absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place. Thank you so much for the birthday balloon for my son; that was such a thoughtful touch. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, and they always make sure everything is okay. We truly had a great experience.
My 14 year old daughter wanted to bring eight friends here for her birthday. Food was very good and very fairly priced. Andrea, not sure of his title, but he is awesome. Straight up Italian guy. He spoke with us multiple times and was very accommodating. He even had my daughter throw a pizza together. It was awesome. My one issue was the "no guns" sticker at the front door. I'm responsible for the safety of nine young girls. Was there someone in there to handle an unfortunate situation had it arose? Probably not.
One experience to forget about we came in about 15:30-15:20 in a Wednesday, and it was all good for a While though soon after it all started to go wrong we finished the drinks we had and "usually" they would refill your drink , basically because that's how it worked last time we got here with a different server though I understand they may be celebrating like the new year though you can't just spend waiting for this pizza 1 hour , I mean if it was a pizza from una pizza napoletana but it was like this pizza , then they opened the door at 50° degrees fahrenheit and we were kind of freezing though I understand it may have been for the weed smell of the joint someone was smoking outside. The restaurant itself isn't that bad , depending on the day you go ir may be better because some days they'll be having pizza other times burgers I really recommend going when they are doing burgers etc... But I certainly don't recommend going there when they are having pizza
The focaccia bread is absolutely scrumptious! It is served with fresh tomatoes and pesto. The crust of the pizza is the perfect thickness and wood-fired to perfection! Andrea, an Italian pizza chef of 15 years, has a great talent. The service and ambiance are terrific too. A great value!
We had dinner here a couple of days ago and it was sooooooooo delicious!! The margarita pizza was perfect (made the way it should be with a red sauce base and circles of mozzarella with fresh basil) and the truffle Alfredo was THE BEST ALFREDO I've ever had!!! The chef Andrea is from Italy and even came to our table to chat. We also shared the ravioli and focaccia bread as appetizers. The focaccia was legit and came with a delicious pesto sauce. We ended our dinner with the beignets and they were perfect bite sized pieces with powdered sugar and a berry puree. I highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back!!
