Tinto Cafe & Provisions
45 John St, Charleston, SC
Crema's Take
“Tinto Café roasts its own beans right in Charleston, delivering smooth, well-balanced espresso drinks that locals genuinely rave about as their favorite in the city. The space itself is a draw—cozy and stylish with a calm vibe that makes it perfect for lingering over pour overs or grabbing a warmed almond pecan roll, and the staff genuinely remembers regulars and goes the extra mile, whether that's helping you navigate the menu or hosting a full gingerbread decorating experience with Santa. It's the kind of place that feels like an adventure every time you walk in, whether you're there for a quick coffee, a slow morning, or to discover their rotating cheese and wine selection.”

Friendly staff helped me all 3 times I stopped in. (Information, lunch, gelato) The choices of cheese and wines were limited; many items on the menu were not available. $38.70 got me the cheese board (see pic) and 1 wine glass + tip. Separately, I returned to try the recommended pistachio gelato. It was tasty, with just a hint of salt. I appreciate that it was naturally colored.
Hands down my favorite coffee in Charleston! They roast their coffee beans here in Charleston and it's delicious. Love the vibe, the coffee, the food. Such a cute spot!!
We happened upon this amazing adventure; decorating ginger bread cookies with Santa! What a wonderful experience. The kids spent time with Santa, so much more more than just a quick picture. PRICELESS!!! He spent time chatting with them and even helped them decorate their cookies 🎅. Precious memories & amazing staff to boot.
Tinto Café has such a cozy, stylish vibe. I tried the Bootlegger smooth, well-balanced, and not too sweet. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, and the staff are super sweet and friendly, making the experience even better. A really lovely spot to slow down in Charleston.
Love this little spot! The almond pecan roll was delicious. Make sure to get it warmed up! Love the service and vibe here as well. Highly recommend for a casual breakfast.
