PJ’s Coffee
2616 S Claiborne Ave, New Orleans, LA
Crema's Take
“This New Orleans institution has built a reputation on creative seasonal specials like their Mardi Gras drinks that capture local flavor, though execution can be inconsistent across visits. While the drive-thru setup and cute decor appeal to grab-and-go coffee lovers, recent reviews suggest the location struggles with staffing consistency and service speed that sometimes make nearby chains feel like the safer bet. If you're willing to take a chance on their signature creative drinks, you might find something memorable, but manage your expectations for reliability.”

Honestly, i always go to starbucks across the street but i wanted to try the mardi gras specials. I ordered both. One taste like blended coffee, the other taste like they. you guessed it just coffee, maybe a few pumps of cinnamon. The person taking orders was on the phone, & rude, didn't seem like he even wanted to be there. It's work, I get it but damn. I paid for it, I expected it to be the correct way. Also, we were the only people in line. Took almost 15 min. TERRIBLE, terrible, terrible
Drive through box is broken and doesn’t even look like it works. Staff is painfully slow and not very nice. It was my first time at a PJs after receiving a gift card. Also. Why is a 32oz coffee $11? I’ll be going back to Starbucks. Editing to mention I didn’t get my $20 gift card back…
As much as I like PJ’s, especially this location going to Starbucks has turned into the more reliable option. When Da Meat Mane came that is when I started to notice a change at this location. There was soooo many people around which was odd for the location. Thankfully TMM’s customers began to park elsewhere and that issue was rectified. Then came the change in hours of operation 6:00 am-12:00 pm then 6:00 am-6:00 pm. The second change of HOO was not displayed as publicly as the first change and there were times that I came when the location was supposed to be open but it wasn’t. I’ve also come twice and sat in the drive thru and never received service, there was a different employee present each time. Once I asked for a seasonal item that was promoted and was told PJ’s doesn’t sell that item at all. Starbucks has better service, quicker service, and more consistent hours of operation and customer service which I rather have over a 32 oz large.
I LOVE everything about a Pj’s coffee, however the experience I had at this location left much to be desired. Customer service is a 0/5. But the icing on the cake is the granita is not properly mixed. It is literally watery, icey and doesn’t taste like the typical granita I get at every other location. I was very disappointed, esp since I’m almost sure this is probably a black owned franchise.
This location is drive through only, which is what I typically use so I don't have an opinion on that. It's decorated really cute and has held up nicely considering the general area. The speaker used at both the drive through and window is sometimes hard to hear because of traffic and the seemingly unending construction on the highway. My drinks have always been decent here, no complaints, and this location is one of the few to have the spinach croissant, which is my favorite food item at PJ's!
