Pulgarcito 503

Pulgarcito 503

★★★★3.7(280 Google reviews)

Crema's Take

Pulgarcito serves genuinely good Salvadoran food—pupusas with real queso fresco and harder-to-find ingredients like loroco—but the 3.7 rating reflects real friction: aggressive automatic tip screens (customers report being forced past 20% with no flexibility), inconsistent service, and operational issues like a broken A/C that went unaddressed. If you're willing to accept spotty execution and an uncomfortable payment process for solid food, it's worth trying; if you value smooth service and reasonable defaults, you'll likely leave frustrated.

What to expect

Classic coffee drinks done right. Slow-sit spot. Full breakfast on the menu. Family friendly. Drive-thru.

Food is good but I did not like the fact they forse to pay more than 20% tip, without let you pick based on the service received. In my case I just saw the waitress once and just at the end to collect the payment. Should be fair to pay more than 20% tip for that kind of service??

The Pupusas were delicious. You can really taste the difference of the Salvadoran cheese compared to the ones we make at home. I was also surprised that they had Loroco which was really good. The place itself is pretty big and they have music a dance floor and Karaoke.

Unfortunately the day I went the A/C was not working, they put a fan next to the table and it was uncomfortable eating with a fan blowing your food. I order a Beef Soup and it had a incredible taste, very Good, then I order a Nance Juice but it was to watering, but it was…

The food is pretty good, a little on the pricier side but very tasty. Don't recommend the horchata and they have limited drink/soda selection but the taste of the food makes up for it. Also they do Karaoke Saturday and Sunday and that's a site to behold.
