The Local

At first, being a (local) I thought, Great we needed a small local convenience store so we didn’t need to fight the traffic by going to Publix or Walmart in Gulf Breeze. Unfortunately THE LOCAL is taking advantage of the local’s and the visitors on Pensacola Beach. 8.00 for a dozen eggs, 10.00 for a package of hot dog buns and on and on. Everything is 300-500% marked up from what you would pay at a Gulf Breeze Grocery store. The liquor upstairs is also way beyond what you would pay in Gulf Breeze. Even with the 10% discount they give local residents, the prices are astronomical. As a local or a visitor, 100% Mark up would be understandable for the convenience. At this rate, “The LOCAL “ will be out of business within 2 years, the local residents are already talking and taking their business elsewhere. We would love to see this business be successful, but it truly is not Right to charge hard working people these prices! To clarify the price Markup. If you purchase a package of hot dog buns for a 1.49 at your local gulf breeze grocery store and then go to the LOCAL convenience store on Pensacola beach and it cost 10.49 for the same product the markup is 604.03%.

Plenty of healthy options available, along with prepackaged foods in the refrigerators toward the back. They also have a café menu, which was a nice surprise. Overall, it’s easily the nicest and most convenient option I’ve seen on the beach when it comes to convenience stores.

Very surprising visit! Did not know what to expect thought it was going to be gas station coffee. Wow, it was fantastic!! Roaster is from near Destin. So so good. Also got a couple of burritos made in house. Great local spot, dont miss it!! Also sold Pensa Cola, all organic soda. 🩷

Pensacola Beach’s newest one-stop shop! Whether you’re staying at the beach or a local enjoying a day trip, anything you may need from coffee, deli sandwiches, groceries, sunscreen, etc. can be found here! Atmosphere: The building is separated by two levels where level 1 has all the supplies and level 2 houses the spirits. There’s also a seating area outside on the left side of the building. Service: If you’re ordering a sandwich or coffee from their cafe/deli, they prepare the menu items quickly which adds to the grab-and-go quickness of a regular gas station. Menu items: I got their Chai Latte with whole milk and made my own sandwich that included: sourdough, turkey, pepper jack cheese, shredded lettuce, pickles, and mayo! My favorite touch was the signed, “Have a lovely day!” quote on my sandwich box!

What a convenient, cute spot near the beach. 🏖️☀️🌊 My daughter got a delicious matcha, they had the cutest stuff from local vendors and the outdoor seating area was fun to relax at. The staff were super friendly and the restroom was spotless. I love that you can grab drinks, food, snacks, ice, beach supplies etc. minutes down from the beach.
