Crema's Take

Indaba Coffee on Monroe is a generous-hearted gathering spot where the specialty drinks—especially their acclaimed matcha—and inventive food like their celebrated avocado toast draw loyal regulars back again and again. The spacious layout, both inside and out, welcomes everyone from remote workers to friend groups to families, all warmed by genuinely friendly staff and a thoughtful vibe that feels both lively and relaxed. What really sets them apart is their commitment to giving back: every bag of coffee purchased funds a meal for someone in need, so your coffee order actually does good in the world.

I live in Houston, TX, but my mother-in-law is from Spokane so whenever we're in Spokane, we always pay Indaba a visit! We love this location on Monroe. There's plenty of space to sit inside or out, and the staff are always amazing. I'm subscribed to their monthly coffee subscription so I can always have Indaba at home in Texas!

Super cool and friendly employees (shout out to Heidi and Sam), tasty drinks (love their matcha), delicious pastries and food, great music always playing (avocado toast is so good), so much seating for chatting with a friend or studying, and big open windows that allow for a well lit atmosphere! 10/10

We received a bag of coffee from Northwest Trustee & Management at Christmas time. Besides loving the coffee, I checked out the website. LOVE they donate a meal for every bag purchased. I just received my first subscription, and they encourage using the box for donating to others! LOVE the small business and obvious endeavor to help communities!!

Indaba Coffee Roasters is such a great spot. The coffee was so good, and the breakfast bagel was incredibly flavorful. The atmosphere is amazing, warm, inviting, and a perfect place to relax or catch up with friends. Definitely a must visit if you’re in the area!

This place is usually hoppin' every time I come here to grab a treat and get a bit of remote work done. Lots of people come here to chat with friends, do a bit of work, meet with clients, etc. Despite that I've always found a spot for my solo self to sit down. This is one of my favorite places for matcha, and I typically ask for the maple cardamom matcha. It was a fall special a couple years ago but the baristas have never had a problem making it for me year-round since. So good! Lately, I've been trying to limit my caffeine intake even further due to pregnancy, so I recently tried their carmelized banana houjicha (good, I still like my go-to matcha better), and their beet latte and holy smokes I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT ALL THIS TIME! It is so good. A barista recommended ordering it with white chocolate. 10/10. As far as I'm aware, most coffee shops don't have this drink on their menu, so Indaba is a gem for serving this! They also have reasonable rates for booking their meeting/conference room spaces, which come in clutch for small group gatherings.
