Crema's Take

This husband-and-wife run gem in Gilbert crafts unexpectedly excellent coffee drinks that satisfy both purists and those seeking creative signatures, all without the cloying sweetness that plagues many specialty shops. The warm, attentive counter staff and inviting patio create the perfect setting for lingering over a cup and exploring their made-from-scratch breakfast offerings like their standout breakfast pizza and fresh biscotti. It's the kind of neighborhood spot where regulars come back the very next day because the combination of thoughtful coffee, genuine hospitality, and quality food proves irresistible.

My husband and I came here yesterday and had such a pleasant experience that we had to check it out again today. Got another coffee and were unexpectedly drawn to the biscotti they had up front. We are not biscotti people. But the color and texture on these things tempted us. Man are we glad we tried it. The texture ended up being much more of a shortbread consistency, delicate and crumbly on the pallet and just beautifully semi sweet. Was amazing on its own, and even more amazing when dipped in our Americano. Special bonus is that all of the baked goods here are made by the owner's parents who used to own a little boutique bakery business in New York. We love this place. Absolutely worth a visit.

My friends who, like me, enjoy going to new coffee shops met today at Villa Mella Coffee. We were immediately greeted by super friendly people behind the counter in a room that two other food businesses share. The room has yellow subway tile and has lemon/citrus decore. It feels like my grandmother's So-Cal kitchen (in the best way). Taking this citrus theme to the drinks, my friend got a lemon cold foam on his cold brew that I am going to try next time- he loved it. As we were visiting, the owner let us try their tiramisu which was amazing ! It was super light and tasty- something great for a quick late morning treat. The breakfast pizza is great too- it has scrambled egg as sauce and cheese like a pizza. The bread is a thick slice making the whole pizza quite a bit of food. Overall, we will be back whenever we go to DT Gilbert. The location is amazing and has a patio for customers to use. The shop has amazing workers, good food, and good coffee. I get the feeling this is a newer shop and hope they stay in business for a long time to come.

Such a great local spot! This family-owned coffee shop run by a husband and wife is a real gem. The coffee was absolutely delicious! It was rich and perfectly made and the breakfast pizza was so good, fresh, flavorful, and comforting. You can really feel the love and care they put into everything. Warm atmosphere and great people! I’ll definitely be back!

Love this new coffee shop. The coffees are unique but most of all, truly good. I am a bit of a coffee snob and love their drinks so much. I don’t like super sweet drinks and usually drink black coffee or plain lattes but their specialty drinks are so good. The owners are so kind and I’m so impressed with them. They are truly salt-of-the-earth people.

My niece and I decided to try this place after seeing a post on IG rating the coffee side of the shop. And, the video was spot on. Friendly staff. Good and different coffee drinks and nice patio to enjoy our Az fall temps. We will definitely be back.
