Gorsuch Ski Café
254 Bridge St, Vail, CO
Crema's Take
“Nestled in Vail with a genuine ski town vibe, this espresso-focused café pulls genuinely hot, well-made shots and pairs them with standout pastries like almond croissants and cinnamon rolls that justify a leisurely sit-down. The experience hinges heavily on which barista is behind the counter—some are genuinely warm and engaging while others can be dismissive—but when the energy is right, it's a favorite local hangout for meeting friends over a slower coffee experience.”

I went to Gorsuch Ski Café and had two completely opposite experiences. At the coffee bar, the staff was super friendly and the food was amazing. Honestly, the best almond croissant ever. I highly recommend it. On the other hand, the rental shop was the worst. One of the employees, who appeared to be a J1 worker, told me that Gorsuch was only accepting cash at the moment for tuning services. He was very persistent about the cash payment and even offered me a discount, claiming the system was down. I paid in cash as he requested, but he refused to give me a receipt, which I found very strange. A few minutes later, when I turned around, I saw him putting the money into his pocket. This gave me the impression that some business may be done under the table, especially since different customers were being charged different prices when paying in cash.
Okay 2025 update and this time I went to the new smaller one across the alleyway from the larger one. The training and the staff at these places are absolutely horrendous they don't greet you coming through the door they're not friendly we put in our order and then they had some Spanish friends come through the door and they both sat there and talked to these people for about 8 minutes without making our order I couldn't believe how unbelievably bad it was The service is terrible and then we left and of course they don't say a thing totally unfriendly I'm never coming back to these coffee shops. The two hopeless employees are shown in the picture. Previous review at larger shop of the two I was disappointed coming here The people working here were distracted couldn't remember the orders. Got orders wrong. In our group they got one of the orders wrong and in the group after us they got an order wrong bad listeners. Think I might try out some other places while I'm here
Great Vail atmosphere style Cafe. I found the coffee itself to be very good - actually served hot which I like. They also have freshly squeezed orange juice which was nice. Overall great Vail spot for coffee and just feeling the Vail spirit.
The cinnamon roll was very dry and had to be warmed up in the microwave at the hotel. The blueberry muffin was good. The prices are similar to everywhere else
I give this place 5 stars except for the service. Sometimes the staff can be a little rude, depending on the barista you get. Aside from that, this is our favorite place to hangout in Vail! They have the greatest hot chocolate around, as well as their pretzels 🥨 Some other favorites are apple cider, biscotti, and chili for when it gets cold! Sitting by the fire while looking at the snowy peaks is the best experience!
