Crema's Take

Our Kitchen operates out of a shipping container at Trackside in Bellingham, bringing a casual, dog-friendly vibe to the food cart scene with inventive comfort food like hot dogs on homemade pretzel buns and vegan garbanzo bruschetta. While service can be leisurely and food quality is inconsistent—some reviewers rave about their creative offerings while others have felt overcharged for basic ingredients—the outdoor setting and neighborhood location make it a worthwhile spot for a relaxed meal on a nice day. Their homemade baked goods and willingness to experiment with unexpected flavor combinations (like crispy shoestring potatoes alongside sandwiches) are what keeps regulars coming back.

Ordered 2 of the daily special posted on a sign board and waited. Then waited. About 20 minutes later, the person came out and said it would be a few more minutes. Mind you, there were no other people waiting or ordering. Another 10 minutes later, she came out again and offered cookies on the house while we waited, and confessed that the owner was at Costco buying the food for their special, and they didn’t have half of the ingredients to make it. They also said no substitutions were allowed, and at that point when we inquired about a refund, they also were not able to provide one as the owner was not present. I don’t know why it was not communicated at the time of ordering that they didn’t have the ingredients to make the order, but over 30 minutes of waiting for nothing was quite frustrating. It could have been prevented by being up front instead of just taking money for something that they knowingly couldn’t provide. A refund still has not been processed and this happened several hours ago.

Took 30 minutes to get what’s basically an underwhelming piece of lasagna. Other customers got a pager while we got a verbal “promise”. Location is about the only thing they have going for.

Our Fraud. The chefs are magicians with the Mastercard, great at cooking lead into gold. Owner admitted that the mac n cheese was Kraft, it cost $6-7. They’re out here upcharging 1/3 of a box of Kraft that costs $1.24 at Walmart. Could’ve sworn the teriyaki sauce was bought straight from the store, chicken from the can (it tastes like it as mentioned in other reviews). Regardless of the ingredients, don’t spend money here when you can cook something better and cheaper from home. Honestly a hilarious experience, never seen a legal money flipping method like this since 2021. Reminded me of home. Edit: Have to respect the organization for hustling to provide employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by any means possible. The “one of our most popular items” line is a classic, good script, however the main concern was the mac n cheese. That menu item can be improved by simply not selling a 1/3 box of Kraft mac n cheese. Glad to see the money’s going to a good cause, genuinely. Ethical hustle, moral scam>>>>

One of a variety of food options served out of shipping containers down at Trackside and this one is our family's favorite! Various hot dogs with homemade pretzel buns, baked goods and comfort foods that are different than some of the other typical foods found nearby. We ordered a bit of everything and it was all really good. Their pretzel bun hot dog was really good. We also had their "crack chicken" on nachos which was yummy. And all of their baked goods were super tasty. Friends told us about their ginger molasses cookie and it's no joke. Very good. We also loved their heated cinnamon roll. After a few beers at Trackside we ended up ordering two pretzels and those hit the spot too. And, something to note that I think is pretty cool...this place intentionally hires people with disabilities to provide them jobs. All in all, this a place our family will certainly be back for.

Garbanzo bruschetta with pretzel bread (vegan!). Wanna come back and try a dog on a pretzel bun with kraut and crispy shoestring potatoes. Perfect complement to a beautiful spring day down at the Trackside launch pad.
