Came into Batch at about 3:15 p.m. on Sunday 2/15. They weren't too busy. I patiently waited for my turn in line. The female staff person completely ignored me and helped the person who arrived after me as if I was invisible. I turned around and walked out. I know you saw me then. Thank you for your not so excellent service! I've been to this bakery many times and spent more than my share of $($40 - 60/visit + 20% tip) AND I'm an awesome tipper. Sadly, I won't be returning. From the reviews, looks like getting the brush off is a repeat affair? I do like your baked goods, but your service needs some work.

I did a lot of research for a place to make my wife’s birthday cake. After much deliberation, I chose Batch Bakehouse. The reviews were great and the photos very appetizing. Unfortunately, reality kicked me in the face and disappointment laughed in the corner as I cut into the $50 pastry. Since when does a multi-layer cake have way more frosting than cake? The frosting between the three layers was as thick as the cake layers themselves. Add to that the top and side frosting, and you end up with a big ball of sweetened butter. Not pleasant. Not even in the vicinity of pleasant. The buttercream was okay, but I ordered a cake, not a bucket of frosting. Don’t ask me what the cake tasted like, I couldn’t tell you as there wasn’t enough of it to get a good taste. Great service and a nice shop, but a very disappointing first experience. Will not repeat my mistake.

Went in this morning and holy cow!!! They have SOO many options! There had to be at least fifty different breads, pastries, cookies, baked goods and sweet treats! I got the butterscotch mini bundt cake which is so frickin moist and delicious, as well as a ham and gruyere croissant. Hands down one of my favorite bakeries in Madison. The goods all look so cute, but taste amazing too. Don’t even think about it - just do it. Go in and try something - they definitely have something for everyone.

Grab and go style bakery. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I have tried a variety of pastries and I think they might be the best bakery in Madison! My favorites are Gruyère croissant and the spicy cheese biscuit. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Been stopping into Batch Bakehouse the past few years as a special treat whenever I am I am driving downtown and it’s early enough for easy parking . I have always enjoyed their vast array of well placed and beautifully displayed sweets and baked goods . I have been a big fan of anything savory they do . And today was no different : I got their Ham & Gruyere croissant (Not pictured) , a regular Gruyere croissant and since I was there I opted for a sweet treat and got the monkey bread . Everything was amazing as always . The Ham & Gruyere croissant was flaky perfectly baked with great mix of cheese and ham . Could not resist the temptation and devoured it upon exiting the bakery . The other two treats I brought home for lunch and both were amazing as well. They used to make some addictively good focaccia breads few years ago with olives and tomatoes but have not seen those in a long time . Staff is always very friendly and make you feel welcomed each time . Parking is not hard but the earlier you arrive the easier it will be to get street parking . Keep up the good work Batch friends !
