Atticus Market

Crema's Take
“Tucked into New Haven, this hybrid market and café feels like a place where you'd linger over espresso drinks while browsing shelves of carefully curated pantry staples and locally-made goods. The real draw is the fresh-baked bread and sandwiches built on their own sourdough—reviewers rave about the crusty, charred loaves and creative preparations like lasagna bianco—making it as much a destination bakery as a cozy meeting spot. It's the kind of place that satisfies both a casual coffee craving and a genuine hunt for quality ingredients, though be sure to double-check prices at checkout.”

Food prepared here is good but marketplace product prices/labels need to be updated. Purchased 5 items today and most rang up as $1-$2.50 more than they’re labeled as in the store which is pretty frustrating when you’re already paying a premium for the location.
Amazing food, treats & coffee!! Will definitely be back 😁
Sometimes I go in when I have a psychological need for a pantry item snack on my way home. I never get fresh baked goods here due to Celiac and stick to the grocery and snack area, which sometimes has good finds. I have sometimes found frozen items or chocolates. (The mini zucchini are wonderfully cute.) Lately, though, there hasn't really been anything quick and snack-y or quick meal that's safe for Celiac, and what they carry rotates all of the time inconsistently, so I usually end up going to P&M or Nica's. Also I am a hearing aid user and if I think the music is loud it must be absolutely too loud for people with normal hearing.
So fresh and delicious. Sandwiches made on store made bread. Never had anything I didn’t love here. Photo is lasagna blanco.
Of all the wonderful items that Atticus has to offer the Country Sourdough is my favorite, it's the best bread I've ever had. The bread is crusty with a nice char on the bottom and inside it's nice and chewy plus I like the fact that there is only 3 ingredients. My current fave to make with this bread is slice and toast it then top with ricotta that I whisk in mild olive oil and a drizzle of honey then sauteed mushrooms with ground rosemary. The staff is always pleasant and helpful and sitting outside in the warmer weather is delightful.
