Crema's Take
“Tucked into New Orleans' Uptown area, this vibrant spot nails authentic Mexican cuisine with standout dishes like birria tacos and camarones à la diabla that taste like they came straight from a street vendor—just elevated. The warmly decorated space strikes that rare balance between festive and genuinely relaxing, making it equally perfect for a leisurely breakfast with family or a lingering coffee date with a friend, where you'll find yourself welcomed immediately by genuinely kind people.”

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, vibrant, and welcoming. The décor created the perfect balance between festive and comfortable, making it a great spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. The food was absolutely amazing — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish was seasoned perfectly, and you could truly taste the quality of the ingredients. From the appetizers to the main course, everything came out hot and timely. The service was just as impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about our experience. We never had to wait long for anything, and every interaction felt professional and kind. Overall, an outstanding experience. Delicious food, exceptional service, and a fantastic atmosphere — we will definitely be back!
The food is tasty and fresh. The people are nice and welcoming. I was hoping to see more sides for their food. Also it is nice to add hard shell to their taco selection.
Good experience eating here with my boyfriend and I loved it so much!! I would definitely come back here again the environment is very nice, friendly and relaxing!!
Sopes, camarones à la diabla, birria tacos and torta! Very authentic Mexican food. Great pescatarian choices as well. The tacos are similar to street tacos but better! I recommend it to anybody in the neighborhood. My favorite drink was the margarita’s Mexican coffee!🤎
Margarita’s Kitchen is a great spot in the South Carrollton / Uptown area. The food was delicious—everything tasted fresh and well made. The chips are some of the best: fresh, crispy, and absolutely addictive. The arrachera was excellent, full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, especially the outdoor seating along South Carrollton. It’s a really nice place to sit outside, enjoy the view, and take your time with good food and drinks. Highly recommend if you’re in Uptown and looking for great Mexican food in a chill, friendly setting.
