Crema's Take

Tucked into Hoboken, this authentic Tuscan bakery wins hearts with phenomenal house-made cookies (the prunes and dried figs are legendary) and traditional Italian pastries that taste like they came straight from the countryside. The small, charming storefront serves slow, thoughtful cappuccinos and focaccia sandwiches alongside their impressive array of homemade baguettes, making it the perfect spot to linger over coffee and pastries with friends or catch up on work. Regulars rave about the warmth of the staff and the genuine, unpretentious Italian experience—it's the kind of place people deliberately travel to and bring gifts home from.

I ordered online their cookies as my boss recently brought them at work. They’re just phenomenal and one of the beat cookies I’ve ever had. I tried the prunes and dried fig cookies and they’re to die for!!!! Also very fresh! Delivery took a bit but so worth the wait!!!! Can’t wait to explore more of their menu

Inside this small store front is delectable homemade baguette's, pastries, many different focaccia sandwiches. Variety of coffee and teas. Palisade Ave and Bay Street in Jersey City also have locations as well. I've had the cream puff before and love the small size olive focaccia.

We love Prato! Have to get it any time we are down that end of Hoboken. We love to get the brutti ma buoni and cantucci for our friends and family as a little slice of Tuscany by way of Hoboken! My only recommendation is to bring back the old red bags! They made for a nice presentation/ experience… the plastic ones do not have the same effect! I felt compelled to write this because I think of it every time I come. But love Prato so much! Go get you some!

I had gone into Prato to order a cappuccino. I’ve had them there before this was not a first time. For whatever reason it took 20 minutes. I was standing for so long I finally had to sit down until the barista figured out how to make the coffee. She kept going to the back of the store and then back to the counter, she used at least three different milk pitchers, was fumbling with steaming the milk. Made some kind of comment about “oh I’m getting milk all over my fingers”. I’m not sure why I needed to know that, but it certainly wasn’t the cause for her taking so long. There wasn’t anyone else in the store, just me Finally, I was handed my coffee however it was no longer a cappuccino. It was a latte way too heavy too much liquid, but I will say the coffee itself was good as always. When I first ordered, I did leave a tip. I’m sorry that I did that. She certainly didn’t earn it and I can tell you I will be taking a break from Prato for a while.
