Crema's Take

This Harvard Square institution strikes a rare balance between being a bustling neighborhood hub and a thoughtful spot for lingering over pastries and coffee. Their Israeli-American pastry selection and shakshuka genuinely shine (reviewers keep coming back for both), though their espresso drinks are more reliable than exceptional. It's the kind of place where the staff remembers your order, the space fills with real people having real conversations, and you can grab a quick coffee or settle in for a leisurely breakfast without feeling rushed either way.

It is now a classic, and a franchise. It keeps the high quality of pastries and coffees it had when it was a stand alone store. Really terrific Israel meets American pastries, with use of sesame seed, various nuts, halva and other delicacies. It is a must try if you are visiting Harvard Square or you are one of many locals that come here every day

Fantastic! Superb shakshuka - just the right blend of spices. It's very rare I can't finish a meal but this was perfect for a lunchtime bite. And at only $15 it's a great deal.

Awesome stop! Mauricio was very friendly, answered all of our questions, and was quick. Got our order 100% accurate. You Gotta come here if you’re close to Harvard. CLEAN, FRIENDLY, LITE, AND DELICIOUS. We were with a group of 16 and ordered several different things to try. My favorite was the Ham and cheese Croissant. Lite & fluffy. Full of flavor(I’m sure j don’t want to look at macros.. 😂). Lemon poppy seed cake was moist and perfect.

Relatively quick service. Food was delish - we got the lamb with hash plus the shakshuka with lamb. If you like something on the light side, go for lamb with hash. Or if you like something on the acidic or heavier side, go for the shakshuka. Wouldn't recommend the refresher (mango and ginger) as i feel like the mango was not fresh. Overall, very nice place to eat. Just a little lack of seating.
