Cafe Lumina
27 N Main St, Ashland, OR
Crema's Take
“This Italian-inspired café brings an authentic slice of Naples to Ashland with meticulously crafted cappuccinos, house-made pastries free from seed oils, and a warm, European atmosphere that transport regulars straight to Italy. The owners are genuinely present on the floor, and the menu extends beyond coffee into thoughtfully prepared breakfasts featuring frittatas and fresh pastries that rival what you'd find in Italy itself. It's a rare kind of specialty coffee destination that takes equal pride in its espresso program and its commitment to ingredient quality across the entire menu.”

Wow! There is nothing like this in Ashland. Casual and delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wonderful pastries. Great drinks. What really blew us away is how there’s no seed oils, they make their pastries with beef tallow, and they have a Berkey for water! This place is much more of a cafe than a restaurant, exactly what the plaza needs. Great vegetarian options. All organic. Comfortable seating. Specialty Lattes. Wonderful Gelato! We will be back time and time again
The pastries were incredible, as good as any I have had in Italy. We loved the fresh, flavorful, coffee and the frittatas. It’s always a great sign when you see the owners out on the floor checking in with customers! Loved the decor and the warm community feeling! This place is my jam!
Joy will exude you as you’re transported to Italy upon entering the Cafe Lumina! The choices of sweet and delightful treats (none of which use seed oils - thank goodness!) are fantastic and will hit all your tastebuds. We ordered the doughnut-like treat (fried in coconut oil and beef tallow)…amazing! And a cornetti (a croissant-like, but more cakey pastry). Of course this was complimented by a perfectly concocted cappuccino. We had to try the meatballs too and those were excellent, surrounded in the perfect richness of a tomato sauce! On top of all that the staff and owners were so kind and hospitable. We felt welcomed as if into a family’s afternoon gathering in the countryside. We hope this place stays a long time in Ashland and maintains the quality of good eats and connection we all need much more of!
The most darling new cafe in Ashland! We’ve spent a lot of time in Europe and in Italy specifically and this gives just that feel in many ways. The cappuccino tastes very authentic and the cornetti are amazing. The staff are all so sweet and welcoming and the location couldn’t be better. Organic coffee, regenerative milk and authentic ingredients - so glad this place has opened in Ashland!
Our family is so thrilled Café Lumina has opened in Ashland. We visited Italy, specifically the areas around Naples in May and fell in love with all things Italian. The environment here is warm, bright and welcoming. The coffee and Italian pastries are delicious. They use Alexandre Farms organic milk. I have tried the frittata and arugula salad and both were fresh and perfect for brunch. It’s a wonderful place to gather with friends or family. They are so welcoming to kids. Ashland is really lucky to have this new restaurant.
