Rum Boogie Cafe
182 Beale St, Memphis, TN
Crema's Take
“Rum Boogie Cafe is a Beale Street institution that thrives on live music and eclectic energy rather than coffee precision, so expect talented local bands and vibrant atmosphere in spades alongside your drink. The space itself is visually captivating with layers of character and history, making it perfect for soaking in Memphis's musical soul on the patio, though quality can be inconsistent across both drinks and food. If you're visiting for the experience and entertainment rather than specialty coffee craftsmanship, this is genuinely worth your time.”

The Bad: Drink was so watered down that a lightweight like myself could tell there was barely ny alcohol in two drinks that cost me $30. The Good: The music was good but the band kept badgering people for tips. Left immediately after a few songs. Will never return.
Excellent live music! Loved the atmosphere and vibe. Great patio to sit outside and people watch, too.
Great music, good vibes and nice drinks. We loved the live music here. The band was super fun and extremely talented. You should have a look when you're in town.
Our waiter was clearly high, we could smell it. He was friendly tho 😆. The food was terrible. I ordered a catfish sandwich and the lettuce wasn't just wilted, it was molded. The rice wasn't cooked all the way in the red beans. The side of bread we were given tasted funny, like moldy. The catfish itself was fried perfectly. The drink was made well. Everything else was not good.
Rum Boogie Café on Beale Street is downright cool! Not an inch of this place goes untouched! There’s so much to look at, it’s incredible. You can feel the energy and history that’s passed through here, even during the day! We had the breaded mushroom appetizer, which hit the spot, and the drinks were heavy pours, a definite plus! Loved the cherry margaritas! There was just one guy running both the bar and food service, and he did a fantastic job keeping everything on the move. They have a separate bar area as well as tables to dine at and watch the stage entertainment. I only wish I could have seen it fully alive at night, but even during the day, Rum Boogie Café has a really unique vibe. Highly recommend stopping in!
