Crema's Take

Dusky Grouse has mastered the art of the perfect cappuccino while creating a genuinely welcoming space that feels like a local's living room—think espresso-focused classics done right, plus creative seasonal drinks that surprise you. The upstairs meeting room and newly expanded back space make it ideal whether you're settling in with your laptop for hours or just need a quiet refuge after arriving in town, all backed by staff who actually seem to enjoy what they do.

Their coffee is really good!! If you’re looking for a classic espresso, order the cappuccino and you will NOT be disappointed! They have a meeting room upstairs which is great if you need a quiet spot for a virtual meeting or phone call. Baristas can are super friendly and they do a lot to support the community—highly recommend supporting this local gem 🙂!

I went in here Thanksgiving morning and was very impressed. I just arrived in Steamboat the day before so the following morning I wanted to find a cool place to chill and have my seasonal spicy mocha! I was greeted by Duke who was super awesome. I asked him about my spicy mocha and he ran to the kitchen to grab the cayan pepper! Really great service, super welcoming. Shay was hustling the espresso machine. As time went on, man, it got busy! And she had those drinks flowin! A lot of different types of drinks! They both were very pleasant and accommodating! Highly recommend stopping here if you are just passing through as you are guaranteed great service and a perfectly made beverage! Thanks again guys for all your hard work on this Thanksgiving morning! - DUHTIN, DUH!

Super chill coffee shop. Very nice and helpful staff. Parking is eh. I would hopefully recommend the shop to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee.

I didn't rate the food because I didn't have the chance to snag any. I was waiting for my person to wake up to go out for breakfast somewhere and thought I would stop in for a moment. Instead I probably spent a half an hour there looking around at the retail items and all of the information that surrounds the shop. The vibe is comfy and friendly as is the staff. The pictures really say the rest.

Updated 9/28/25: what was said below still stands. They've opened up the back for relaxing and made the space more welcoming. Still super nice folks with good coffee, a few snacks/food options, and local art/music, etc. There's a recording studio upstairs. Previous post: Great little spot that's a bit off of the beaten path, but well worth the trip! An excellent place for your caffeine fix and a light snack (including some gluten free options). A few tables and seats outside with a view of the ski hill. Plenty of parking when we were here. Not a lot of kid friendly options. The folks were very kind. They've also got art and local items for sale. Definitely will be back again! Thanks for all you do!
