Nuance Chocolate

Crema's Take
“This isn't just a chocolate shop—it's a masterclass in single-origin cacao where deeply knowledgeable staff guide you through bars and truffles with the same care a sommelier brings to wine, helping you discover flavor profiles from bright acidity to complex earthiness. The experience is intentionally unhurried and welcoming, perfect for settling in with a specialty coffee drink and a hard-to-find truffle, though you should come prepared to appreciate (and pay for) genuine quality rather than casual indulgence. It's the kind of place that quietly challenges what you thought you knew about chocolate while making you feel genuinely cared for.”

Bought 3 single origin bars. I forget the young man’s name who helped me Saturday afternoon but he was knowledgeable and helpful. He helped me choose a bar with the highest acidity, another with the lowest and another in the middle. What an amazing experience tasting them side by side! The bright fruitiness in the Madagascar bar is lovely. Vanuatu bar tastes totally different with more “typical” chocolate flavours - nutty, toasty, brownie batter. Bolivia ended up being my favourite.
Pricey, but super high quality. Go with an expectation of appreciating hard to find quality chocolate and make the most of the experience. (It's probably impossible to make this operation profitable, even at $4.75 per Truffle. If struggling, maybe Nuance can expand into more foods or partner with a coffee shop/deli/bakery to keep it going.)
Steve helped us out and everything was great!! We felt very welcome and taken care of.. He was able to speak fluent polish too! The chocolate was excellent, we really loved each truffle we had and the chocolate bars were really great. This was a great pit stop while walking around old town!
We visited Nuance Chocolate for the first time and had a great experience. The staff was helpful and attentive, which made for a welcoming visit. We tried two truffles—Pistachio & Coconut and Peanut Butter. While we realized we’re just not truffle people, they seemed very high quality and would likely be a hit for those who are! We also sampled two drinks: the French Canadian, which we loved. At $8, it’s definitely a splurge, but we thought it was well worth it. The Iced Theobrew was good, but not something we’d personally reorder. All in all, a unique and enjoyable chocolate experience!
Everything is great at this shop, from presentation and variety to knowledge and service. In my opinion the atmosphere subtly and kindly displays "if you think you understand chocate, there is more to learn". They make a wonderful array of single origin bars, and many flavored truffles as well as sipping chocolate and more. Plus inside seating in you want to stay a while. Thankful they are in existence as it adds a special artisan foodie touch to old town, besides the craft coffee roasters, bakery, brews and the kitchen store. Glad to be able to support small / local business. I look forward to my next visit in town so I can linger and try the brewing cacao.
