The Goods

My friends and I stop by The Goods regularly for breakfast because we all love our meals there. I usually have either the Shroomlette (omelette with mushrooms, chopped sausage patty & Swiss cheese) or the Mediterranean omelette (which I love because all the ingredients are always really fresh tasting). The both come with pan fried potatoes and I alway upgrade the bread to an everything bagel with cream cheese. Every last aspect of either breakfast is always excellent and makes me super happy I can to the restaurant. In warmer weather, I bring my two Chesapeake Bay retrievers to our breakfasts as we always sit out on the patio. Because I love sweets, I usually buy 4-6 of their huge macaroons that have a dark chocolate base with chocolate also drizzled over them. My wife and I fight over them and, to make the point as to how good those are even more clearly, she pretty much never eats sweets. They are great…. Last thought, and it’s just a thought at the moment. After 3 years of going to The Goods for breakfast on the regular, we all were noticing the lunch menu this morning and commenting on how appetizing that all looked…. The Beef Chili was really good. The addition of avocado and sour cream was the right recommendation by our server. Good heat. The Cubano was solid. Comes out of the kitchen hot! The pickles are a great addition to the sandwich! Nice lunch spot!☘️👍🏼

My Carmel Latte was made to perfection. I enjoyed the New Yorker Bagel for breakfast, which tasted absolutely divine! Jackie was amazing and I love the atmosphere she delivers. I'll definitely be back every time I visit Portsmouth!

The only place that was open early that served French Toast which I had a craving for. It tasted 👍 good and I liked the flavor of the butter 🧈 that they serve with the toast 😋. Service was good but the owner was formal without being very welcoming at first 🥇. He seemed a little annoyed or stressed but nowhere near Basil Faulty:-) When he brought my order to me, he was smiling 😊 and came back 🔙 and checked on me to see 🙈 how I was doing. While other customers were telling him they liked a pair of shoes 👟 he previously wore, he politely took my plate 🍽️ and wished me a good day. The coffee ☕ was okay 🆗. The lattes look tempting. Small dining area but plenty of window seating. Seasonal outdoor seating. I am curious about the other items and I hope to return and try them out. Pastries, candy and local items for sale as well.

The sandwiches at this place are pretty good, and if you just order a sandwich or wrap, the prices aren’t too bad. Everything else on the menu is priced fairly high for the portions you get. The coffee bar is also expensive, and the coffee was average. There are a few tables you can eat at and a coffee bar along the side. There’s a parking lot across from the shop, which always has spots as long as there isn’t an event in town. The person working was not very friendly, but wasn’t rude either. If you’re walking by and in the mood for a quick sandwich, it’s fine. Overall, 3 stars.
