Cafe Luna
Ocean Ave & Mission St, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA
Crema's Take
“Tucked downstairs in a charming Carmel courtyard, Cafe Luna is a warmly run neighborhood gem where owners Mike and Linda create the kind of welcoming atmosphere that keeps locals coming back—think fountains, fire pits, and genuine smiles with every order. Beyond solid specialty coffee and matcha, they're known for surprisingly excellent food like fresh açaí bowls and rice plates at reasonable prices, making it equally great for a leisurely sit-down meal with friends or a quick pastry break.”

I just love this place Cafe Luna in Carmel By the Sea. The owners Mike and Linda are so sweet and welcoming. Always greeting you with smile. The food is amazing! Must try the rice plates - try the beef or the chicken - so delicious.
Absolutely amazing. The food, coffee, service and atmosphere are perfect. I love hanging out in this courtyard with the birds, fountains, fire pits and CHOCOLATE 🕊️ Whem visiting Carmel-by-the-Sea stopping in here for all of this with wine tasting, gallery perusing, clothes shopping in the day then fine dining in the evening is bliss 🤍
I come to Cafe Luna in Carmel all the time because the people here are really kind and the food is always great. The açaí bowl is one of my favorites. It has so many ingredients and it tastes fresh every time. I also tried the kimchi ramen, the chicken Caesar salad, and the chicken with rice. Everything I ate here so far was really good. The owner is super nice too. He gave us a ten percent student discount, and he even gave us ice cream for service, which was such a sweet surprise. The whole place feels nice and clean, and the food always makes me want to come back. I really recommend this cafe if you want something good to eat in Carmel.
Food was really good! Price is affordable! Staff are super friendly and even gave us complimentary dole whip at the end of our meal! Thank you Michael and Linda for hosting us, highly recommend !!!!
I love the location, downstairs in the mall. Both inside and outdoor seating. Easy to get to, right near the main strip. Order at the counter, get a budget and wait for tire food to come out. And wait. And wait. Took quite a long time for the food to arrive and it didn’t seem like it was busy. Some dishes were pretty good, like the ramen. I didn’t expect that. Others were so so, like the breakfast sandwich which came out cold. I’d it work would be much better if it was warmer. I will give them credit for having a huge, wide variety menu. Standard breakfast dishes, plus Asian dishes (ramen, rice plate, potstickers), plus Italian paninis, plus sandwiches (Philly cheesesteak, grilled cheese chicken), Mac n cheese, and Greek salads.
