Crema's Take

Tucked in Kailua-Kona, this spacious two-story cafe strikes a balance between casual hangout and serious workspace, drawing a steady crowd of folks nursing specialty drinks like their standout Thai iced espresso while laptops glow throughout the airy interior. The kitchen shines brightest with thoughtfully prepared options like smoked salmon bagels and creamy Oatly oat milk lattes, though breakfast can be hit-or-miss—expect reliable coffee and creative plant-based choices over perfectly seasoned comfort food. With big windows, plenty of seating, and a genuinely relaxing vibe, it's the kind of independent spot where you could easily lose an afternoon without feeling rushed.

Came here for breakfast and unfortunately this was one of those, “I could have made it better at home” moments. The breakfast burrito was very under seasoned, the banana pancakes were on the dry side and my boyfriend’s matcha had sour soy milk so he couldn’t finish his drink. Would rate a 2.5 if I could. Staff is nice and the cafe itself is cute and we loved that it had outdoor seating so we could eat with our dog.

An artistic, casual, and relaxing cafe. I had the smoked salmon bagel and oat milk latte that were both tasty and satisfying. For the oat milk they use Oatly(brand) and it came out perfect! The salmon bagel had a tanginess that complimented the creamy cream cheese and the overall bagel well. I appreciate how they have a to-go box next to utensils so I was able to box my other half bagel for home (without asking). I initially came here to relax and the second floor seemed perfect. It was early enough for me to hangout downstairs on the weekday. It gets busy around 8AM.

This place has a great atmosphere, from what I’ve noticed there’s always quite a few people studying or doing work with a coffee there. It’s a chill vibe with great food. A lot of healthy delicious options, and some sweet treats like the great chocolate cake. Wife liked the cinnamon honey latte, breakfast bowl was fantastic, breakfast burrito was really good and pancakes were great!

Franchised, large, two-story open air building makes for a great place to work or hangout for long periods of time, especially up top by the big windows. Lots of vegan/veg options, though I prefer get my quality espresso drinks elsewhere. I’d recommend for standard cafe service & varieties of good vegetarian dishes 🤙🏼
