Crema's Take
“Creative Grounds DC is a gallery-café hybrid where you'll find thoughtfully pulled espresso drinks alongside rotating local artwork, making it feel more like a creative studio than your typical coffee shop. The owner's genuine warmth sets the tone for a space that's equally suited for serious work sessions or leisurely catch-ups with friends, though fair warning: their pastries are more of a pleasant afterthought than a standout draw. If you're hunting for solid espresso and an atmosphere that actually inspires conversation and focus, the welcoming vibe and artistic surroundings here are well worth the visit.”

I love this place! I get my coffee beans from here every week. The inside is full of stunning artwork and the owner is such a kind person.
Came in recently to do some work. The chai was not great and the almond croissant I had was cold in the middle (probably was a frozen pastry) even after being toasted. But I’d come here over Starbucks any day and will try something new next time. Ambiance was great, reggae playing over the speaker. Absolutely beautiful art on the walls, felt like a mini gallery.
Stopped by on my way out of DC this morning. The coffee (I got a latte) is good, but the pastries are average. It seems like a bright space to come and do some work or to read - lots of art on the walls and books available.
Met a friend here for a quick coffee and a reading session. I love the vibes of this place on a warm day. The coffee is great and the small selection of baked goods is a nice compliment. They also have a small book store at the front of the cafe with new and used titles for sale. If you live nearby, this is a great place to spend time! If you are just passing through, stop in for some coffee!
This venue is pretty cool. Great lighting and outdoor seating. This venue also has art for sale as well as some books. The service during my visit here was good. My hot tea was good but the iced matcha needs work. I feel as though the quality of the matcha is the baking kind and not the ceremonial grade. The baked goods were really good though. The banana bread and the blueberry muffin were fantastic.
