Foster Street Coffee
530 Foster St #2, Durham, NC
Crema's Take
“Foster Street Coffee strikes that rare balance between serious craft and unpretentious warmth, earning devotion for both their standout iced chai latte and reliably excellent drip coffee alongside creative specialty drinks. Beyond the cup, it's a genuinely convivial spot where dog owners feel celebrated, the breakfast menu delivers (those Mexican Mochi and waffles get real love), and parking validation rewards your loyalty without the fuss. It's the kind of neighborhood gathering place where quality doesn't come with attitude, making it a natural anchor for anyone in Durham seeking their new favorite coffee ritual.”
What to expect
Cold brew standout. A slow-sit, laptop-friendly spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast and light food on the menu. Dog friendly. Parking available.

I stop by semi-regularly as it's nearby and I've never had a bad experience, but I've never had a stellar experience. The espresso is fine but the flavor profile is more akin to a national chain coffee shop than a micro roaster, which may disappoint some people, and the service…
I usually drink hot lattes, so that’s what this review is about. It was solid, just not great. For me the perfect lattes has micro textured foam that has a velvety texture ideally with latte art. This fell short…kind of airy bubbly foam on the top. Only disposable cups, no…
EXCELLENT iced chai latte! Best so far in my quest for the best chai in the Triangle! My husband had the coffee and it was delicious! We will be back!
Favorite coffee shop in Durham with the best drip coffee and wonderful crafted drinks + great tasting affordable food. Not pretentious, but high quality. We also love that they’re dog friendly and their catering options are awesome. Always on time, always kind, always delish.
Nice place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and a bit of breakfast. We had the Mexican Mochi and a waffle 🧇. Both were delicious. Friendly staff and parking validation make this a go to spot for us.
I went on a Saturday after farmers market and regretted choosing to have coffee here, especially with so many other options around. I’m not exaggerating when I say it took forever to get our coffees (the owner should really consider investing in more machines). The wait wasn’t…
