Crema's Take

This cozy Portsmouth café has earned a devoted following for its creative weekly specials, particularly the generous salads and expertly crafted egg and cheese sandwiches that locals can't stop raving about. The welcoming, laptop-friendly space strikes that rare balance between being a serious lunch destination and a comfortable spot to linger with friends or get work done. With locally roasted coffee, thoughtful light food offerings, and prices that feel fair for the quality, it's become a hidden gem on Pease Street that people find themselves returning to multiple times a week.

Great food. Excellent variety with their weekly salads and grilled sandwich specials. Always a great place to go for lunch, has never let me down.

I had THE BEST Thai chili cucumber salad here last week- such generous portions! Pro tip: some of the salads can be used to make an easy poke bowl (just add salmon & rice). Easy, low-effort dinner in less than 5 minutes!

I stopped going here initially because I placed an order and while making it the owner stopped, take and made another persons order. I tried again this am and stood there for a while watching one woman taking a break drinking and the other making someone. Neither acknowledged me or offered to take my order until I said something. They both had an attitude so I left. Instead of “oh sorry I was distracted” the response was “ya, I could take your order” with a very disdainful tone. Terrible service which is too bad because the food is good.

Hidden gem on Pease. I've found myself here 3 times in the past week, and have had both breakfast and lunch. Their egg and cheese sandwiches are the best on the Seacoast and they serve locally roasted coffee. For lunch, they have a case filed with incredible foods such as pasta and fruit salads, made fresh daily. The owner always greets me, which is appreciated.

Really comfortable cafe with refreshing but filling meals for a good price, it happens to be right next to my job so it's been a lifesaver for both breakfast and dinners
