Crema's Take

This Springdale institution blends nostalgic comfort with genuine hospitality, where you'll find yourself lingering over generous portions of fried chicken, catfish specials, and honest-to-goodness grandma-style pies while the staff treats you like family. The atmosphere strikes that sweet spot between themed charm and lived-in warmth, making it equally ideal for a solo coffee and pastry moment or a sprawling family gathering with plenty of parking to spare. Neal's proves that a great coffee shop doesn't have to choose between being a community gathering place and a destination for genuinely good food and drink.

The food was pretty good. Had fried chicken with taters and gravy. The crust on the chicken was very good. Had chocolate pie as desert and it was old school grandma pie. I really wanted pecan but they were out. Atmosphere is one of history. The place has been there forever. Multi million dollar deals have taken place there with a handshake from the Tyson family and other high end names.

Food was very good, almost couldn't eat it all. Server was amazing. Very nice and attentative. I actually really liked the decor and atmosphere of the place, but it felt uneven. Like half was themed and the other half felt a bit empty. But all in all good experience.

After seeing several posts about the weeknight catfish special at Neal’s Café in Springdale, AR, I decided to check it out for myself. The special runs Tuesday through Saturday after 4pm and features all-you-can-eat catfish with sides — seemed like a perfect excuse to meet up with my parents for dinner and do a little review. We were welcomed to seat ourselves and greeted quickly by a very friendly and attentive server. Within just a few minutes, we had drinks and our orders in. I went with the fried squash and mashed potatoes with brown gravy for my sides. Our meals arrived in about 8–10 minutes and everything looked great on the plate. But as we all know, looks can be deceiving. Unfortunately, that was the case here. The catfish turned out to be Swai — lightly seasoned and cooked well, but lacking flavor. The mashed potatoes and gravy were just okay, and the fried squash didn’t seem to have any seasoning at all. While the service and atmosphere were both solid, the food just didn’t deliver for me. It’s not something I’d likely return for. Rob Score: 5.0/10.0 #catfish #swai #springdalearkansas #arkansas #catfishnight #AYCE #friedsquash #mashandgravy #nealscafe — at Neal's Cafe.

The staff is friendly and professional. The food is generous in portion sizes. The pricing is fair. The restaurant is clean with abundant parking. I ordered their famous cinnamon roll and coffee, which was very delicious. I am very satisfied. The only inclination for a four star rating would be because of my long wait to receive my order. My waitress explained she was not pleased with the first cinnamon roll. She requested another cinnamon roll to be prepared for me. My waitress ensured my coffee cup was never empty. Sheila is excellent. I enjoyed my visit and will definitely return. I encourage anyone looking for a wonderful family atmosphere, offering delicious entrees. Come try this place out!

My friend in Springfield kept going on about Neal's. So when I had the chance to visit, I jumped at the chance. First off, friendly staff. Made you feel like a long lost friends. Second. Server was really helpful with our menu choices. Then went to the next level to provide the best service ever. We both ordered fried Jalapeños. So they fried those first and brought it out as a sort of appetizer. Best ones I've ever eaten hands down. Third. Both meals were scrumptious. In fact I'm eating their leftovers as I type this. My friend said he'd come back for a weekend visit just to eat here. He lives in Kansas City, MO. If that's not a declaration of love; I don't know what would be.
