Apostrophe
432 State St, Schenectady, NY
Crema's Take
“Tucked inside Proctor's Theater, Apostrophe is a cozy neighborhood spot where local coffee and thoughtfully sourced food meet a genuinely welcoming vibe for both quick caffeine runs and lingering conversations. The cafe strikes that rare balance between casual grab-and-go efficiency and slow-café comfort, making it equally suited for theater-goers needing a pre-show pick-me-up and folks settling in for an unhurried meeting over a well-made cup. While the seating could be more plush and service consistency varies, the genuine commitment to quality local ingredients and the intimate theater-adjacent setting give this hidden gem real charm.”

As Entertainment Facility Proctors itself will rate 4 stars but Apostrophe Cafe&Lounge only 1 star. Why? Because about 5 on the floor including security guard 1 or 2 always, about 4 cashiers at the front desk but guests area disorganized, filthy, food in showcases sometimes week old from local culinary school Cross a street. Coffee? Yes, it's good because lavazza. Advice for the actors, bartenders, baristas to be, please, love your customers and environment you work. I do believe that you like be not only in warm but cozy places too, make your cafe/longe more attractive and make sure your food is attractive too. Happy Valentine's day!
Nice snack - food place. Coffe is always good. I wish that seats were more comfortable. But again, maybe it's just me... Perhaps someone else feels differently about it.
Nice little cafe in Procotor's theater. They have wraps, sandwiches and coffee and tea and cold drinks. Great place to go to for meetings or if you need something quick. Prices were decent. They have a good selection of desserts too.
I absolutely love this little hidden gem! Apostrophe can be a little hard to find, as it's inside the Proctor's Theater building, but it's a must visit. The food and coffee are all local, and there's plenty of space to sit. It's also great on winter Sunday's when the farmers market is in there or on days when there's free live musical entertainment.
Poor customer service, I asked for a small white choc. Rasp coffee. I got charged for a latte. When I asked what drink they gave me. They told me a white chocolate Rasp is normally a latte. Even tho I stated a small coffee! They were rude about it, didn't refund me the difference of a latte vs. A coffee. Provided no reciept. And when I walked away to sit down. They began talking about it. I'm not sure how such rude people got hired to work with the public. Sucks that a place with good coffee, will lose a customer because they don't know how to treat people.
