The Co-Op Gourmet Sandwiches
190 Gardners Cir, Johns Island, SC
Crema's Take
“The Co-Op Gourmet Sandwiches on Johns Island is the kind of place where you'll happily linger over a California Turkey sandwich or craft frosé while soaking in the laid-back island vibes from their outdoor seating. The team prioritizes genuine hospitality and creative drinks over speed, making it feel less like a transaction and more like settling in with friends—whether you're stopping by for a full breakfast, light lunch, or just a moment to yourself by the pool. Reviewers consistently rave about how welcoming the staff are to families and groups, and how the Kiawah location seems to nail both the quality of their signature sandwiches and the overall atmosphere better than anywhere else.”

Great spot on Kiawah for breakfast or lunch. Inside and outside seating options. Not the fastest, but the courtesy, attitude, and laidback atmosphere makes up for it. Read the whole menu and then make a choice because there are some sleepers. I’d recommend coming back a few times so you can try several sandwiches and salads.
Love the California Turkey sandwich and, of course, the frose. While I've had the sandwich at the other locations, I've had the best ones here. In my experience, the Freshfields location is fresher! Also, I dig the peaceful vibe of this location. Staff at all locations have been great.
The cutest place to grab a drink or any other food or snack you might be in the mood for. The staff were so sweet and helpful! The drinks are so good! We enjoyed ours by the pool on a beautiful day. Can’t wait to come back in June on our next trip.
Great food, great staff and professional attitude. We were a group of kids and adults and they were accommodating. Definitely coming back for breakfast and more. The New Yorker bagels were particularly fresh and tasty.
my wife and I and my in-laws visited the Co-op in Kiawah this past weekend. . the food was phenomenal. The sandwiches and salads came out so beautiful and hearty I definitely feel like I got my moneys worth and then some.. My wife kept going on and on about her salad and how beautiful and tasty it was. she loved it so much she took one home for the following day. Courtney and Amanda took great care of us even despite the fact we came in 5 minutes before closing. You could tell Courtney really loved her job and loved making sure her customers were taken care of. Amanda was very friendly and welcoming to us all. We will definitely be making this a must stop when ever we are in town.
