Kindness Cafe + Play

I adore this place. Delicious pretzel, outstanding blueberry lemon bar, wonderful smoothie, excellent “fist pump” hot chocolate, and unmatched service. The mission of Kindness Cafe is also so important and so needed, and they’re truly making a difference for the Charlottesville community.

Super Yummy Chai latte and lots of beautiful faces! I tried the lemon blueberry bar on recommendation and was not disappointed! Will definitely be back!

Awesome spot! I took a day trip from Richmond to Charlottesville in large part to visit Kindness Cafe and it was well worth it. Super warm and positive atmosphere. My berry smoothie and blueberry & lemon bar were both very good and quite reasonably priced. Service was friendly and the food came out super fast! Great opportunity to support the local special needs community.

Nice new sun shaded patio area and open interior cafe space. Indeed a kind place to enjoy a good cup of Joe. Snack items somewhat small, could be beefed up but tasty. A lot too families and healthy folk as located inside the cville YMCA which is impressive.

This cafe is located in a gorgeous, renovated YMCA. The space is so clean and modern, with sidewalk chalk, giant connect four and outdoors seating with shade. The customer service was friendly and fast! I just heard one employee as someone outside if they wanted their “usual” and recited it down how many ice cubes she likes in her iced coffee! I love how they’ve created a welcoming space for everyone here. Also, the drip coffee was $2.5 for a 12oz. Mudhouse is $3.97 for a 12oz mug that ended up being less than 12oz and no free refills for dine in. Affordable, great coffee perfect for if you’re working out at the Y before or after.
