Doi Moi
1800 14th St NW, Washington, DC
Crema's Take
“Doi Moi blends Vietnamese tradition with creative cocktails in a convivial DC space where attentive bartenders and a fun downstairs bar scene make it ideal for lingering over drinks or gathering with friends. The bottomless brunch has earned genuine enthusiasm from visitors who praise generously portioned shareable dishes like fried beef jerky and mango sticky rice, though the kitchen's more Americanized approach to classics like pho lands unevenly depending on what you order. With its mix of signature creative drinks, full breakfast menu, and late-opening hours, it's a solid spot for meeting up rather than seeking the most authentic Vietnamese experience.”

We found this place to be decent. However we were surprised how Americanized the food is. We ended up getting the banh mi and pho. The pho was the most disappointing. While the broth had a strong beefy flavor it had very little of the typical flavor from pho spices.
Had drinks in the downstairs around 9pm. Fun ambiance without being too party at this time. We sat at the bar and had attentive bartenders. Would’ve loved more cocktails on the menu, I felt like it was somewhat scarce. I had the spritz and it was wonderful.
Came for the Bottomless Brunch, left very happy and very full. Portions were perfect for two people to taste many items on the menu. Attached pictures are: fried beef jerky, mango sticky rice, steak egg cheese bun bao, shrimp toast and pandan waffle. Drinks are all terrific as well. Despite being Viet fusion I think Doi Moi still maintains some authenticity to the original dishes.
Food was great! Drinks were great! Service was great! Ambiance was great! We got the sampler tower and every dish was amazing. The fried rice (ordered separate) was definitely my favorite. I started it with the Lychee daiquiri and then followed with vodka soda. The daiquiri tasted just like juice. Our servers name was Trevor and he was very informative, personable, and attentive! I definitely recommend coming here!
Average at best. At the time their reviews were higher and were listed as one of the best food places in DC, which definitely was not the case. We Came in and got a sampling to try 6 recommended items, which ended up costing $166 before tip. All the dishes had a great appearance but totally lack in authentic flavors. This place was a huge disappointment. Overall I would never recommend this place to someone looking for authentic flavors.
