I got the s’mores latte with the lox toast on a bagel. Everything tasted great. The atmosphere was cozy but trendy. I think the person who took my order name was Molly; very friendly and personable. Will be back

This was one of the best lattes and sandwiches I’ve ever had. Their coffee is so rich and smooth. We got the s’mores latte and the peppadew sandwich. Not to be dramatic but it was life changing.

Hatchet always will be our best place in Boone. We come every single year for vacation since 2021. The best avocado toast. I give them more than 5 ⭐️

Hatchet Coffee has a way of feeling instantly familiar, even if you’re not sure you’ve been before. On our second trip to Boone, we pulled up to the café and were struck by that déjà vu sense of comfort an immediate excitement that confirmed we’d found one of the High Country’s true gems. This was our second visit, and once again Hatchet proved itself to be among the best coffee purveyors in the region. The line was long, but the anticipation only added to the ritual; after all, we had a 45-minute drive ahead to Grandfather Mountain, and good coffee was non-negotiable. At the counter, the staff embodied the kind of hospitality that makes a place unforgettable. The cashier was warm and attentive, quick to ask questions when she didn’t have an answer, and genuinely excited to help. I had come to swap ground beans for whole, and while the exchange wasn’t possible, they graciously sent me home with a bag of Brazilian beans instead a gesture that spoke volumes about their passion and care. Despite the bustle, the wait was brief, and the atmosphere remained convivial. One of the baristas even struck up a conversation with me about my jacket, a small but meaningful interaction that elevated the experience beyond the cup. Hatchet Coffee is more than a café it’s a community hub, a place where quality and connection meet. With its exceptional brews, thoughtful staff, and welcoming spirit, it’s the kind of spot you’ll find yourself returning to again and again. The photos below are from my first visit in 2024. This review is from my recent visit in November of 2025.
