Crema's Take

This Providence institution nails the pastry game with genuinely excellent baked goods—their croissants are impressively flaky, their kouign amanns perfectly balanced, and their cakes properly moist—making it worth a visit if you're willing to pay premium prices for quality. The espresso drinks are solid and service is quick, though some find the overall experience a bit rushed and impersonal. Come here when you want a really good pastry with your coffee, not for lingering or chatting with the baristas.

The baked goods here are genuinely tasty and well made, but the prices are extremely high for what you get. I could potentially look past the cost if it were clear that employees were being compensated fairly. Unfortunately, knowing that workers are not earning fair wages makes the pricing hard to justify. For that reason, I won’t be purchasing from this bakery again until employees are paid appropriately. Quality products should go hand in hand with fair treatment of the people who make them.

Quick service, decent latte. I ordered a pretzel chocolate croissant as well - croissant was flakey and light, the pretzel/saltiness paired well with the not too sweet chocolate in a well balanced combo. I would definitely stop in again and try out their other bakery items. There is a small parking lot behind the bakery with a couple of spots as well as street parking available.

The most delicious flavorful, baked goods! We had the lemon cake, cinnamon roll, and ginger scone. All delicious! I would definitely come back for the baked goods. However, the service was meh.. the staff attending the counter were not very friendly or helpful.

Their pastries were so good! We went there on the Labor Day and got the lemon cake and kouign amann. The cake was super moist and the kouign amann was perfectly flaky and sweet, loved it!

MEM tea and a variety of coffee drinks. Pastries, bread, and a few yogurt and granola options in the cooler, as well as three types of milk (pink, chocolate, and regular) and orange juice. The cheddar bread with a bit of butter is phenomenal! They don’t have sandwich options beyond butter, jam, cream cheese, nut spreads, and avocado toast, but that bread is so so so so so so good!!!
