Sandy's Café
1026 White St, Key West, FL
Crema's Take
“This unpretentious Key West institution, tucked into a laundromat space that only adds to its authentic charm, has earned its reputation as the island's gold standard for Cuban sandwiches with that perfect pressed exterior and impossibly succulent pork. Beyond the iconic cubano, Sandy's delivers on everything from skirt steak tacos that somehow pack remarkable depth of flavor into every bite to crispy conch fritters and a Cuban breakfast that elevates the everyday. It's the kind of place locals fiercely defend and return visitors refuse to skip, where simple ingredients become something memorable in the hands of people who clearly know what they're doing.”
What to expect
Classic coffee drinks done right. Slow-sit spot. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu.

Great food that is cooked to order, the smoothie tasted not too sweet and made proper. Got the cuban mix and enjoyed it quite well, will definitely be making this a place to stop anytime I come down to the lower keys.
My coworkers and I came here every day during our trip to Key West to pick up breakfast and lunch! Tons of options, very reasonably priced, quick service, and hands down the best Cuban we all had ever had! Fair warning though: everything we ordered was pretty greasy and juicy
Went twice while in Key West as they were close to where we were staying. Had a Cuban for lunch the first time which was delicious. Tonight we got Pollo Criollo. Delicious large chicken quarters on rice with black beans, plantains and Cuban bread. So good. Highly recommend. …
I ordered California Burrito, Skirt Steak burrito and tacos, Hibiscus juice and dulce de leche. I have no complaints. I’m a Chicagoan and flavor is everything to me. They NEVER let me down. Be patient because they make everyone’s order with time well spent and love.
I have eaten tacos in more countries than I care to admit and the skirt steak tacos are the best I have ever had. How they got so much flavor in each bite is beyond me. Conch fritters also get an honorable mention.
Loved the Cuban sandwiches. Nice toasted bread and the pork was very succulent. Atmosphere wise, it is attached to a laundry mat but that adds to the local feel.
