Crema's Take
“Kinfolx feels like the third space Oakland has been waiting for—a thoughtful, beautifully designed café where the mocha strikes that perfect balance between chocolate and espresso, and the vibe is calm enough for deep work but warm enough for meaningful conversations. The room itself becomes part of the experience, with walls and drawings that reflect the neighborhood's character, plus plenty of flexible seating from bar stools to lounge chairs so you can settle in however feels right. Come early if you want to secure a spot, because this little gem fills up fast with people who clearly know they've found something special.”

This little was great. Recommended by someone completely new to town from Southern Cali. While small, this cheesy little cafe has ample seating. Tables, bar stools, lounge chairs, sofas, as well as benches and outside seating, they may the been offer free WiFi. The eats were great, tasteful, and interesting. If you like Caribbean food or a little bit of a kick to your empanadas, come try. I lived all the art and the inside colors that decorates the atmosphere. Everyone welcome, I've never seen such a diverse crowd inside of a cafe, like this, all at once. It's like a little chill spot to work, treat yourself, and be in a safe space. Go, check it out and enjoy. Staff was very pleasant! Great spot, we will return.
Good vibes here. Pretty good chicken pesto sandwich too. I would recommend getting here early if you want a seat, as it's pretty busy every day.
Good cafe for work or study. Free wifi, bathrooms, and plenty of seating. I went on a Monday around 2:45 and it was pretty crowded. Around 4pm a lot of people had cleared out. My rating is based mostly on atmosphere/vibes because I didn’t get any food but I did enjoy the drink I got. I bought an iced matcha lavender latte with oat milk and it was very tasty but I wish I tasted more lavender- I feel like I barely tasted it at all. If noise and music bothers you, you may not want to go here. Even when it was more empty toward the end of the day, there was a man playing music outside quite loudly and while I’m not completely sure if he was affiliated with the business, I think he was so I’m guessing they have performers come play music often. It didn’t bother me but did pull at my attention sometimes.
There are places that simply feel right, and Kinfolx is one of them. It’s a thoughtful third space—calm, beautiful, and unforced—suited for focused work, meaningful conversation, or an easy first meeting. Kinfolx offers a sense of ease and belonging that feels true to Oakland. It’s the kind of place you’re glad exists.
I ordered the mocha, it has a great balance between chocolate and coffee, it's more on the chocolate side. Service was great. Loved the vibe, the walls, the drawings, it reflects the culture of the neighborhood, that's the beauty of Kinfolx. It's a great place to work with a laptop, there's a decent amount of outlets I would definitely be visiting again
