Crema's Take

Yosi's Cafe brings warmth and intention to every corner of its Temescal neighborhood space, with thoughtful decor and an attentive owner who makes you feel genuinely cared for. Beyond stellar coffee, they've carved out something special with creative drinks like their strawberry lavender matcha latte and a full Ethiopian and Eritrean menu that transforms the cafe into a destination for both solo work sessions and meaningful gatherings. It's the kind of place where you linger—whether it's your first visit or you live within walking distance and keep coming back.

This Ethiopian restaurant is a great addition to the local dining scene. Had breakfast there with my family and we all loved it. Very friendly staff and very attentive owner committed to making you feel at home, with authentic cuisine cooked from scratch.

The staff at Yosi’s are very friendly and accommodating, making the whole lunch experience feel welcoming. They also offer Eritrean - and East African - style dishes, with traditional breakfast and dinner staples on the menu. We ordered ful, which can feed one to two people (suggested as a single-person portion) and ended the meal with tea, a perfect way to sit, chat, and wind down afterwards. Also highly recommend the strawberry lavender matcha!

I love this place. It’s within walking distance of my house and Temescal, but has a quiet neighborhood feel to it. The decorations are adorable and purposeful; you can tell the place is cared for and clean. The staff are always welcoming and interactive and the prices are very reasonable. …but most of all, the food is amazing. Whether it’s their moist chocolate cake, giant breakfast sandwich or warm drink (espresso and Matcha 😋), I am always satisfied and appreciate the quality ingredients! Bonus, their water is infused and also yummy!

I went here with my spouse for our first wedding anniversary date. My goodness, the decor is so warm and inviting and thoughtful. The staff were just as welcoming and friendly. I noticed that they had a lot of repeat customers, and it felt like you were at your auntie’s place hanging out until late. We got there around 3:30 and started with hot mocha and strawberry lavender matcha lattes. It was yummy and unsweetened, but they had sugar nearby in case you wanted it sweeter. We then tried the beef tibs with the injera for dinner, which starts at 4 pm! Perfectly seasoned and hot with a side of salad. It reminds me of a Filipino menudo or beef stew, and I was so happy to be able to eat with my hands again! We ended the night with a yummy brownie that they heated up for us. Btw, you order and eat first at the table, then pay at the counter before you head out. Highly recommend, and going on my favorite cafe list. We will be returning and enjoying more food and sharing photos!

Great atmosphere, extremely friendly, and delicious food. Shout out to the strawberry lavender matcha latte, very tasty. Just the right portions, didn’t leave hungry but didn’t over eat. Vegetarian friendly with substitutes. Some of the most refreshing water I’ve had.
