Once Over Coffee Bar
2009 S 1st St, Austin, TX
Crema's Take
“Once Over Coffee Bar is an espresso-focused haven where Austin's coffee culture shines through thoughtful execution and genuine hospitality, with baristas who clearly care about both their craft and their customers. The airy patio is perfect for lingering with a pour-over or grabbing a quick specialty drink, while the solid pastry selection and bike-friendly location make it an ideal stop whether you're settling in for an afternoon or pedaling through your morning. What sets it apart is that intentional, unhurried approach to coffee—the kind of place that doesn't feel rote, where every drink tastes like it was made with purpose.”

Once Over is my favorite shop in a city with lots of really great options. The coffee is always excellent. There is an intention to the experience that isn’t rote. The team is absolutely lovely.
This place is super dreamy, specially out in the patio. Mega cute space to sit and read or whatever you gotta do in peace. Very decently priced, no-fuss-perfect coffee and nice baristas.
Great location for coffee and a treat on you morning bike ride. Two bike racks and other bike parking options. The coffee was solid and treat selection vast. Pastries, breads, donuts and more. The staff were great and know their regulars. This is a neighbor gem.
A quintessential Austin spot that nails craft coffee and laid-back charm. Their espresso drinks are flawless, the drip coffee is bold yet smooth, and everything reflects a commitment to quality. The cozy interior is inviting, but the real magic is on the back patio—a serene hideaway overlooking Bouldin Creek, perfect for a quiet moment or good conversation. Add in the friendly, passionate staff, and it’s clear why this place is a local favorite. For authentic Austin vibes and exceptional coffee, Once Over is a must-visit.
Just discovered this coffee shop. First impression: Good (I leave that extra ⭐️ for my future visits, there’s nothing wrong with the place 😊). I had Mexican Mocha with almond milk, which tastes quite well. There is a small but cute patio in the front. In the middle of great South 1st St.
