Crema's Take

This beloved Chico breakfast destination serves up generous portions of classic American diner fare in a charming vintage building, with a hidden-gem outdoor patio that regulars rave about. The real draw here is the exceptional execution of comfort food staples—think perfectly fluffy breakfast burritos loaded with Ortega chilis and biscuits and gravy that keep people coming back—paired with genuinely attentive service that makes you feel welcome whether you're local or just passing through. Expect a wait on weekend mornings, but the warm atmosphere and hearty food make it worth the 30 minutes.

The food is amazing and the portion size is nice. Love the fast service and very friendly staff. The biscuits and gravy are my favorite to go to.

Excellent breakfast and friendly service! Nice outdoor patio that’s like a secret garden. My breakfast burrito was stuffed with fluffy scrambled eggs, cheese, onions and Ortega chilis. My wife enjoyed the everything veggie bagel served with a nice fruit bowl. Their famous bacon is delicious as well!

We were just visiting the area and this place was recommended to us. What a great find! The menu was delicious classic American diner style food in a really fabulous vintage building. Loved it. Kept hoping to see roller skating waitresses!! Highly recommend.

Omg, I have to say this is the spot for filling the belly. Our good friends brought us here for breakfast and I have to say the Food was extremely good, service was spot on and very attentive. Prices are more than fair for the proportions you receive. I would also like to say this establishment has the cleanest restrooms anywhere near I-5. I Will be back for sure, hell I would drive the four hours to come eat breakfast here.

There's a sign instructing you to write your own name on the waiting list that's near the door. The wait was about 30 minutes on a Sunday which is typical for the area. The coffee was decent but the food was boring. My wife had the 1, 2, 3 which is a pancake with bacon and eggs. The bacon was crispy much to get delight but the rest was alright. My daughter and I had chicken fried steak with potatoes and eggs. The chicken fried steak felt like it was just a very chewy breaded hamburger patty. The gravy just tasted like creamy salt. It wasn't too salty it just didn't have any flavor besides cream and salt. The potatoes were bland. The service wasn't bad but they definitely didn't give a welcoming vibe.
