Crema's Take

This charming Lakeview newcomer brilliantly straddles the line between serious coffee destination and full-service dining spot, earning devoted fans for everything from meticulously crafted cocktails to unexpectedly stellar sliders and breakfast. The team clearly takes inclusivity seriously, with dedicated gluten-free options and a fryer to match, while the warm, unhurried vibe makes it equally perfect for lingering over a pour-over solo or gathering friends for book club. It's the kind of place that smells inviting the moment you walk in, where staff remembers you're there to actually enjoy yourself rather than rush through.

Great new spot in Lakeview - I had the sliders, and they were exceptional. The burgers were well-seasoned - one of the best sliders I have had in the city. The service was quick, and they were quick to come pick up the plates when we were done. Great new addition to the area.

My wife and I went to dinner there last night because it is a new place in Lakeview. Upon walking in, we saw the people in front of us get handed a menu and told to sit wherever they wanted. When it was our turn to be seated, the host was so quiet we could barely hear him, and we were also told to sit wherever we wanted. Come to find out later from our waitress that the host was supposed to seat people in sections so that all servers working could get about an even number of patrons. We were not impressed by the food menu, as it offered a small number of options and was, in my opinion, very overpriced. My wife got the burger sliders ($18), and they were very pretty to look at but completely lacked flavor. I got the grilled cheese; it was okay, but nothing special—$ 12. As for service, the only good part was the waitress we had. The guy they assigned to water duty had asked the table next to us if they needed a refill, and when he was done, he walked behind one woman, ended up standing next to my head and hers, and scratched his butt before continuing to fill water. We then witnessed a party of three older folks come in and tell the host they had made a reservation earlier in the day for a party of three to eat dinner. They did not have a table ready for them, as the seating here is really only meant for 2, so they were brought to the back cocktail room. They were not happy as that room was really only meant for cocktails and chatting, and they were there for dining. The host's solution was to seat 3 people at a table meant for 2 directly next to us, with 2 of them on the booth side, leaving no room for them actually to dine. They all decided they no longer wanted to dine there, and one of them had asked to speak with the manager. The manager came out to speak with them, a short, angry woman, and came across as if they were being an inconvenience to her. Instead of apologizing for the miscommunication and the delay, she became defensive, telling them that if they waited a second, she'd get a table ready and start pulling tables together, with an angry look on her face. They ultimately decided it wasn't worth it and chose to leave. The entire time she was putting the tables back, she was huffing and puffing and rolling her eyes. This is a fairly new establishment. To be successful here, they should treat customers better and improve the reservation system so that when reservations arrive, they have a table ready. All in all, I feel as though their menu just isn't worth the prices, and they should figure out what they're trying to do because it's just chaotic.

My whole experience was 100 stars. I discovered this place on social media and made a point to go check it out on my off day today. This little gem smelled so nice walking in the door. From the staff to the ambience in the environment was A+. I ordered the French Toast and an iced white chocolate mocha with oat milk. Everything was delicious. Thank you and I will definitely be back.

Came here for my first book club event and didn’t even know this spot existed…so cute and quaint! The cocktail menu is solid. I tried the jalapeño margarita and it was so good. Service was warm and welcoming, everyone greets you with a smile. Definitely a vibe. I’ll be back!
